CPHIMS Exam Secrets Study Guide: CPHIMS Test Review for the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems Exam Study Guide Edition

I just started reading this and am amazed on how easy this is to read from a content comprehension perspective. The text is clearly well thought out, rich and concise. To my surprise, I am moving through this at a good pace. The tips in the beginning are also a nice feature. I will have more to say after I review the entire book.

Not one question from the CPHIMS came out of this book. In fact, this book has nothing to do with CPHIMS. I am not sure why they sell it an exam prep.

I passed the CPHIMS exam (November 2017) but I also used the official review guide by HIMSS, However, this books does have good test strategy tips and practice questions that I felt were helpful. I wish you the best with your studies for the exam.

it has been a very good additional resource to the CPHIMS Review Guide that I am reviewing and ensures that I have little or no gaps in my knowledge prior to taking the certification test.

The study guide has detailed information to help bring clarity and understanding in the study process. I am also impressed with the study guide secret keys that was designed to help the reader better understand the testing process and the tools to beat testing anxiety.

About 10% of this book is about Informatics. The rest is about hospital systems management.

I have been an RHIA for 16 years and a college instructor for about 3. This study guide for the CPHIMS is a rather good resource but I wouldn't use it alone. The guide arrived quickly, it is appropriately priced, and its content is direct and to the point. It is a well organized, on topic, easy read. Often, AHIMA study guides are wordy, this one is not. That said, I could not identify any affiliation with AHIMA. Nor could I find author/s listed or any cites references so that is the worry I have with the study guide. In small print on the back of the book I found, "...Information in this publication is included for UTILITARIAN purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement by Mometrix of any particular point of view. Mometrix Media LLC publishes a variety of UNOFFICIAL educational materials."I found the subject matter appropriate and the organization conducive to study and practice testing. It is organized in a manner that I found would be helpful for test taking.NOTE: When you take a certification exam written, vetted and tested by seasoned AHIMA professionals, your best bet is to spend the extra money and get the affiliate study guide as well. WHY? because the endorsed study guide will be usually written by the test writers and subject experts. I did a pretty deep review of the material and I didn't find anything glaring out as bad information but, I didn't have the AHIMA study guide or old test to compare with. This book seems to be a good overview, and a good resource for learning how to take tests but it doesn't steal the show thus the 4 stars. I am not saying this is not a valuable resource, It just isn't that credible standing alone. If you have the money for 1 study guide, get the AHIMA production. If you have a little extra, get this one as well. This item was received on promotion in exchange for my testing and review.
