These are about what you would expect, however, they are NOT hard plastic. The material is more akin to a firm foam with smooth finish, leaning towards a rubbery type feel. I’m rating these at 4 stars until I see how durable they are - I have my suspicions. Install is simple.

I installed on my 26 Land Cruiser and they look very cool. Let see if they last, but they look very cool.

I am a Vine reviewer for Amazon and I take my position really seriously. In this case these pads are for my personal 2024 Land Cruiser. I had noticed after receiving the vehicle that my kids my wife friends and family would repeatedly step on the plate underneath the guard and scratch up the paint. I wondered why Toyota didn't at least include some kind of paint protection film here to mitigate the scratches which were seemingly inevitable This product arrived well packaged with each of the individual pads contained in a heavy plastic bag that was easily marked with the words left and right on the packages so you know which side was passenger and which side was driver. The longer pads go up front the shorter pads go in the back. I liked the quality of the build it was a nice thick cushiony rubber and appears to be able to stand the abuse and test of time and I believe will function quite well at preventing scratches Installation was a breeze, just bear in mind to have some degreasing cleaners handy with isopropyl alcohol being a great last step with a microfiber towel.. I rub the towel back and forth about a half a dozen times with some pressure to warm up the surface I was about to put the tape on which helps with adhesion. Don't do this when it's cold outside or if it's below 70° I would suggest warming everything up with a hair dryer before you do it so the tape and the paint are warm to the touch I put the pads on back Edge first slowly rolling them forwards and pressing the tape lightly to make sure there were no air pockets as I went along on the top. Then I pressed the edge over the side and made sure that the tape was connecting there as well. I then took a large socket that I had but as long as you have something firm and round I rolled it like I was rolling a sheet of cookie dough listening for little air pockets to make sure the tape was fully adhered to the paint. That's probably my one gripe with this whole installation the manufacturer has little places where the Grey VHB tape is pocketed up and you need to roll it down flat to get the little air pockets out between the guard and the paint surface I definitely feel a lot better about this because now I don't have to worry when I have people getting in and out as well as when I'm climbing up to the top of the roof to grab things from my roof rack. These pads give me peace of mind and insurance against people who don't love my truck as much as me
