Used on Dell Upstream 3.0 monitor connection - works a treat
Bought to allow a upstream USB setup on one of my monitors at work, meaning peripherals can be mounted direct to the monitor, it works a treat!

Connect Macbook air with two monitors via a docking station
I have a kensington USB 3.0 Type B docking station and Macbook Air. My laptop didn't detect two monitors until I installed the latest driver. So far, it works well in the first day. Everything looks good. I will come back if I find any issues.

USB-B plug not what I thought it would be
Maybe I'm the last person on earth to realise this, but the USB-B 3.0 plug is an entirely different thing to the now "legacy" USB-B 2.0 plug. I think I failed to realise this because I only want to use USB-B cables to connect to MIDI music keyboards, not external storage devices. While the storage world has had to move on to accommodate ever faster speeds, the music world has not had to do this. As a consequence, any brand new music keyboard that you buy today will still have an "old style" USB-B 1.x/2.x socket on it, rendering this cable useless to connect to it. See the photo of the two plugs side-by-side, USB-B 3.0 on the left and USB-B 1.x/2.x on the right. This Cable Matters cable seems to be of good quality, but I literally own nothing to be able to plug it into to test it. The Cable Matters packaging confused things further as it calls it a USB-B "GEN 1" plug. I don't think that the word "GEN" is ever used to formally identify USB standard generations, but if it were, then I would have thought that "GEN 1" would be more applicable to the older USB-B 1.x/2.x plug rather than the newer USB-B 3.x plug. It's my fault for not being up with the standards enough, I guess, but it would have helped if the product description had carried a note that said something like: "Warning: the USB-B 3.x plug on this cable cannot be plugged into a USB-B 1.x/2.x port as the connector is physically larger".

Works for home use to a docking station
Bought this one separately - Cable Matters USB C to USB B Cable 1m With the move to home working, needed to have a cable for a docking station. This just works from the start and no issues with connections or usage. Works in 3 different laptops and provides speed and connections to HDMI\USB\Audio via docking stations with no lag or noise. No issues with USB C connections and whilst not taken the USB B part out, the cable is working and is of the set and forget....it does what it needs to do.

Reliable data transfer. I've transferred many terabytes with perfect verification and no interruptions. My bottleneck was a spinning HDD, so I can't attest to the speed, but it was as fast as I needed it to be. Length was accurate. Importantly, the cable is packaged in a smooth loop rather than being creased, resulting in a no-kink cable. I was happy to pay the price for a brand I know and trust for cables. I used this to plug an external hard drive dock into the Thunderbolt port of a Mac Mini. I realized that I do not get Thunderbolt speeds and I only get USB speeds, but that was my intention. The Mac liked this cable and so did my external hard drive dock, which originally came with a USB A to USB B 3.0. Perfect!
