This is a great magnet and the quick release feature works like a champ. The magnet’s polarity can be changed by unscrewing the center screw and reversing the magnet. Very strong when in contact with a metal surface but any type of barrier thicker than a sheet of paper will render the result to almost useless.

I got this to help lift Valve Box Lids with holes too small to reach a finger into. Works perfectly, picks up the Lids without dropping them until you squeeze the trigger. Depending on the brand and what ID the lid is, the more surface area you make contact with, the better the hold. I was looking for parts to assemble a similar device on my own, when I found this one already engineered to perfection. Immediately bought 4 more for others to use. Great buy!

Works very well. Helps pick up my heavy deflector plate in my smoker. Need 2 to be completely hands free. I started with one as I have a notch I have to guide to put back in. Strong magnet. Use a shop paper towel under magnet to keep it clean. Works like advertised.
