Great quality
Exactly what I was looking for for a pair of summer work boots. I looked at cheaper brands but I went with Wolverine due to being a brand that is known to be quality. They fit great and have nice thick soles. They remind me of the work boots my grandfather used to wear. I will need to add insoles due to no fault of the boots, just my screwed up feet.

Pretty good boots!
I've been getting slip ons for a few years now and wanted to get some laced boots again. I never had tried Wolverines before. These boots look really nice and are comfortable. I prefer composite toe but couldn't find it with this boot, either way these will do. I also was looking for the shorter style but again, they didn't have one with safety toe. These fit the budget and the leather feels superb, it's not stiff at all, and the boots fit true to the size I got them in. I'll see how they withstand some rigorous work and time. Pretty happy with them so far, very stylish!

So close to a five star boot!
I am very happy with these boots. The reasons I do not rate them 5 stars: the insoles that comes with them are about as good as a piece of cardboard. I replaced them with nice work boot insoles and got the comfort that I was hoping for. Also, the leather uppers, while good leather, are very stiff. They are the source of my only discomfort in them since I replaced the insoles. I am flat footed so I was very pleased with the room in these boots! Lots of room for my toes which is a must for me. I usually don't like the padded tongues but I do like these. Once I get the uppers broke in I expect to be completely happy wearing them. Since they do not hurt the bottoms of my feet I can live with the discomfort of the uppers around my ankles until then. I ordered true to my size and was happy to get the roomy feel that I was hoping for. In my opinion if you like having room for your feet then these make great boots if you replace those insoles and can get through breaking in those stiff uppers. I've worn them for two weeks now and have worn them since day one without dying to take them off at the end of the day. That is how comfortable they are for me. I am very picky with my boots and think that these are hard to beat for the price. I gave up trying to break in my last pair of Thorogood boots for these and I will definitely buy them again providing I don't have the problem of the soles splitting like I've read some other reviewer's stating.

Still early. Updated review
I believe due to the steel toe the shoe is loose in the toe area. I just got the package today and walked maybe 1000 feet in them. Seems to be high quality. I have a pair of redwing iron rangers and it feels comparable but not quiet as high quality. But for 1/3 the price that’sawesome. I work in residential construction new builds. I’ll update in a few weeks to month for a more in depth review. 4 starts til thenI’ve now had the boots several months now. It is well worth the money. Heading into the second season and still in good condition for a boot for me. Moved to 5 stars

Quality has gone to the dogs
The first time I laced them up a grommet rips off. By the fourth day of normal wear, most of the stitching has broken.

Updated. You can’t tell what you’re going to get
I bought these boots for the wedge sole, steel toe and 8” lace up (for ankle support). I work in a ship yard in the Pacific Northwest and I’m on my feet 8-10 hours per day on concrete and metal. I have wide-ish feet though I usually use normal width shoes. I ordered the extra-wise boots and I’m glad I did. I think the normal width would have been too narrow.Due to some thread coming loose after only two days I started a replacement return.I ended up with 2 pair of these, and there are some significant differences. One pair was made in Guatemala, the other in China. Not a big deal normally, happens all the time, but the characteristics of each pair are quite different. The Chinese leather is very soft and stretchy, like a baseball glove, the other leather is smooth, stiffer and I think offers better support. The soles on the Guatemalan boots are also stiffer and firmer (and slightly yellow), while the other soles are soft and more flexible: you can basically pull the toe to the heel. I don’t think the Guatemalan boots have steel shanks, but I noticed much less fatigue and discomfort in them vs the Chinese pair. The insoles in the Chinese pair look very nice, and precisely made. They have a good shape for the arch, the foam is thin, grey and pretty soft. The Guatemalan insoles look a bit less precise and the arch is not as well defined but there seems to be 2 different foams at the heel. The base foam is quite firm, maybe too firm, but the upper layer at the heel is softer. I usually replace the insoles anyway. The final difference I’ll hit on is in the padded tongue: the tongue on the Chinese pair has thin, firm-ish near-perfect padding where the other pair’s is very thick but very soft, so much so that it makes the boots more difficult to lace. Being 8” boots they are already not super easy to lace up and the padding on the Guatemalan boots really gets in the way.To sum up then, for actually working I prefer the boots made in Guatemala for the supportive soles and leather. Jury is out on the insoles, but the Chinese boots have the best tongue and are easier to put on. While it was the Guatemalan boots that started to unthread in the first place, I still think overall they are superior to the Chinese made pair.Of course none of this matters because you can’t specify the country of manufacture anyway, but it might explain the fairly different reviews.Long term update: the boots proved comfortable and wore well, but as others mentioned the sole cracked across the ball of my foot. Also, as the leather has stretched I think I should have bought the standard width boot. Jury is out on buying again: it’s a comfortable boot but the sole cracking sucks.

Great riding boots at that
Honestly never got the chance to put them to work on the job site but one day, these boots saved my ancle from getting broke ...long story short I got off work wearing these I got home needed some smokes from the gas station so I rode my harley down. On the way home I had a dumb***slam on breaks and caused me to slam on mine I fish tailed and fall off my bike at 55 mph I ended up getting pretty banged up but if it wasn't for these my right ankle would have been snapped no doubt for that I'll reward it with a 5 star
