A Carhartt classic. This women's weathered duck coat adds arctic weight insulation for maximum warmth. A quilted nylon lining makes for easy on and off over layers. Wear it with or without the hood. A loose fit offers our roomiest cut with plenty of room to move.

Nice Duck Coat!
When I got this duck coat, I really loved the simple style, deep red fabric, the heft of the cotton, and the fit was just roomy enough to layer without getting constricted. The buttons and zipper option was appreciated, although the zipper needs a little work to pull together. The body lining feels really warm and the sleeve lining allows for a smooth entry. The hood, which is detachable, is a nice feature. There are enough pockets for me to store essentials, although the slip-on pockets on the side might have a little too small of an opening for some girls. This Carhartt coat is worthy of someone who ventures out in the elements and feed the chickens or do hard work outside...but it doesn't fit my lifestyle. It felt heavy to carry, although when you put it on you don't really notice it much. It felt too much of a coat for me, so I had to return, but I have the utmost respect for sturdy coats like these...like they would last a lifetime.

Jacket
Great jacket, well made, comfortable and kept me warm this winter. Love all the pockets and hood, does weigh more than most jackets on the market but is sturdy for going to the barn. Would highly recommend

Awesome jacket but waaay too big!
I usually order all my jackets in size Large to have some slight room for layers underneath and so I originally ordered this in large, and when it arrived i couldn’t believe how massive it was. I wish I took a pic. But it fit almost like I was wearing a men’s XL or something. It was heavy and big all around - I wondered if it was maybe tagged wrong. So I returned it and ordered a medium (just one size down from my usual) and hoped for the best. The medium arrived today and it fits perfect!! It doesn’t feel as heavy as the Large did, and I am even able to wear a hoodie under without it feeling too tight. But this jacket is made so well, that I doubt I’ll even need a hoodie underneath. But you never know with Idaho winters! If I have any complaints about the jacket overall is that is seems like a lint magnet. So I’ll have to keep a lint roller on deck. But if you’re in the market for a super warm jacket that won’t break the bank like other brands (TNF, Columbia, etc that can range upwards of $300 or more for something similar) BUY THIS! It’s not only warm and functional but stylish too. I’d just maybe size down one size from your usual jacket size. For reference I am 5’1 and 145lb my normal sizes are sm/md in tops, 9/10 in pants.

aside from the zipper, it's perfect
As other reviewers have said, the zipper is awful (I've yet to get it to work), but everything else about this coat is perfect and what I would expect from Carhart. I needed a good, warm coat that will hold up to some abuse while doing outdoor work. I'm satisfied this is the one, and it even looks nice enough that I got compliments on it. Hoping it will hold up for years.

Rugged warm work jacket
Love this jacket! It is warm and rugged. Length is perfect as it sits at the hips and not waist. Lots of pockets. Only issue that I’ve read previously is complaints on the zipper. It is difficult to pull up but my husband also has a Carhartt jacket and taught me the trick. Pul. The bottom of the coat to chest height and line up the zipper and the pull up. Works every time.

Love it but I'm sending it back- ANNOYING ZIPPER AND BUTTONS :(
The zipper is not only really far down and hard to reach, it's one of those double zippers, and it's hard to get it to click together in order to zip it up. I'm talking six or seven tries and lots of swearing. The button holes are also tight. Between these two things, I'm returning it, because it shouldn't be this hard. I don't have arthritis or a disability. It is made with high quality materials and has great pockets- front pockets with side entry that are lined and warm, inside pockets for cell phone ,etc, warm sherpa. Great looking, impressive weight. Very comfortable and flattering. It's exactly what I wanted but if I can't zip it up, it's not for me. Back it goes!

Great coat
I like this coat alot. It gives me the warmth and durability of Carhart but not bulky looking. The lining is nice and not cool when you put it on. Keeps we warm and the wind and cold out. Also nice fit allows you to move freely.
