SportPet Designs Pop Open Cat Carrier (Pattern)

I bought this because my cat won't go in the hard car carrier I had. When she hears the rattle of the door hinge She runs for the hills! This little pop-up tent carrier is so cute and the price is very nice! It's works for both of us. As soon as i set it up she went right in. It comes as a small condensed, compact circle that has a elastic band around it with a caution tag. HEED THE CAUTION TAG!! As I was pulling the elastic band off it immediately popped open and flew out of my hands!!! So warning, please do not open directly in front of your face, as it takes off like a shot!! I wear glasses so my eyes would have probably been protected somewhat if it had flown at me. Please don't open around children or pets either as it could be dangerous!! With that said, you just zip it up and it's ready to go. I inspected it thoroughly and the stitching and zipper seemed good and sturdy. My cat is about 9-10 lbs and there was plenty of room in carrier for her, or a fairly small dog. I do wish it had a hard bottom because it sags when you lift your cat in it. I would be afraid to put a heavier cat in it because the bottom is only made of two layers of nylon material. If you look at the bottom of the carrier, there's a hole in the outer layer. For what, I don't know. So I rolled up a small baby blanket and slid it in between the two layers of material and smoothed it out flat, to give it extra strength and padding for my cat. That helped but a hard bottom is better. The windows are made of a material type mesh, so I suppose if you have a cat that likes to bite or has claws, they could rip a hole in the windows, as they aren't made with a heavy fiber. My cat likes to lounge in it occasionally, so I just leave it out for her. The front door has a flap that you can fold aside with velcro so the door stays open all the time for easy access. Makes for a cute cat house! If you don't like the added clutter , just unzip and fold flat for easy storage, as it doesn't take up any space that way. I would not try to contort it back into the circular shape that it came in, or you could get injured trying!! All in all, I like the design, shape and convenience of it, so I would recommend for 10 lb or less animal. Sorry this review was so long but I wanted to give you as much info as possible. Great, cheap carrier. The cat loves it and easily goes in it.

I bought 2 of these carriers and absolutely loved them. The are big enough to carry a large cat. I decided to buy another one but was extremely disappointed with that one. A side brace just popped off when I opened it! I looked to see if the stitching was bad but couldn't see anything wrong. I don't know if it was a manufacturing flaw or what. I sent it back, but still very pleased with the 1st two. If you buy this I suggest you check the stitching

I have a large Ragdoll cat. We live in an apartment and upstairs so he's indoors only. But in case of an emergency, if I have to take him out of the apartment.. I needed a carrier. This folds up and takes up virtually no room the same room as an record album! I love the camo design. And the price was unbeatable!

Light weight it was easy to get my cat input he chewed the zipper open even though it was metal

Faced with moving 4 (difficult cats) and having done so a few years ago with near nightmare results using traditional cat carriers this little bag was a wonder. It's easy to use, lightweight but durable and best of all, because it looks like a cat house it was easy to place it down on the floor and let my cats discover it as such. Once they were in (without stress) the bag could be easily zipped up quickly. To my delight it contained even my scratchy, Houdini-esque Persian for the trip across town (he broke out of the cat carrier during the last move). Excellent buy, highly recommend.

There are others that don’t collapse on your cat and make the trip that much undesirable.

Looks cute! So different! Perfect for my small girl to go wherever. I’m taking her today to the groomer so we will see how it stands up to the task. Very easy to assemble. No off gassing which is a huge plus for me.

My cat HATES going in a carrier. But loves boxes and bags. Since this is like a box-bag, he was quite happily chilling out in this bag. Until I zipped it up and carried him to the car as it was vet time. He suddenly hated it but it was too late, I had already decided that this bag is way better than the old hard box style carrier. Light weight, easy to store, easy to wipe down (to get rid of that smell of fear). Could do with a thicker base but I guess I'm just used to spoiling the ol' fleabag.If you have any doubts about buying this, don't worry. It's really good.

I used this carrier for taking my new kitten on the 3hr drive home. He was quiet and seemed perfectly comfortable, sleeping most of the way. He seemed much less distressed than my other cats were in larger hard cases. A walk to the vet involved a bit more crying but there was more movement, traffic was loud and there were unfamiliar scents. The price is great and the design is adorable and has received many compliments. I love it!
