Yuasa is the best
I know there’s people out there that don’t like these, but I’ve always had great luck and better performance than any other brands. I use a high quality battery tender, so maybe that makes a difference.

Cheaper and Better
First off, 'Old Drum' is accurate in his assessment. I would suggest letting the battery sit for one hour to allow the acid to interact with the lead plates before charging. Also, if you are troubleshooting your battery and getting a good voltage reading, DO NOT assume it's your starter or some other issue. Amps start engines, not just voltage. My HD battery read 12.8 volts. I charged it: still would not crank, just clicking noise. I desulfated the battery and recharged: same issue. Put it back on my 2006 FLHTCUI Touring Bike and watched the voltage for three days: dropped.4 volts (voltage drop believed to be because of alarm system). I purchased the Yuasu YIX30L-BS and it fit perfectly and cranked it without any problem. The engine even sounded like it's turning over faster. And finally, I stored both my HD motorcycles' information into Amazon and was made aware whether or not the battery would work on the particular bike I was needing it on. If you're not mechanically inclined, let someone who is work on your bike. Don't give a bad rating if you don't know what you're doing. Just my opinion. Oh, by the way, I just purchased the HD battery 14 months ago from my local HD shop. Warranty missed by 2 months. Coincident???

A high quality battery for a good price
I ordered this as a replacement battery for a Polaris Ranger 500 UTV. It is the maintenace-free version of the YB30L-B that came in the machine new. The original battery had seen 3 yrs of extreme use in a special application - heavy discharging and recharging. Recently I discovered the original battery had gone dry due to recharging it at too high a rate for too long. Expecting that the battery would have to be replaced, I ordered this as a replacement. In the mean time, I filled the old battery with distilled water and charged it. It is now back in the machine and has worked well for the last 6 weeks. I have the new YIX30L-BS battery on the shelf to install when needed. The great thing about these batteries is they come "dry-charged" and can sit on the shelf until needed. It comes with a container of electrolyte that can be used to fill the battery when ready for use. As a service tech for over 30 yrs and with my own vehicles, I have found Yuasa batteries to be worth the slightly higher price. I have had good

Please read before you order this battery!
My HD dealer had a "sale" on HD brand batteries for only $169, so I ordered this one for $111. It works perfectly, but there are a few things you must understand. The battery ships without any acid or liquid of any kind in it. The acid is shipped in the same box, but in a special plastic multi-tube container. You must line up the sealed container with the openings in the battery and actually "push down" to break the plastic seals while the plastic tips are inserted into the battery. It is very easy. I did not spill a drop. Just don't rush it, as it takes approximately 10 or 15 minutes for all the acid to drain into the battery. DO NOT PUT THE CAP ON THE BATTERY AFTER INSTALLING THE ACID! You will need to charge the battery for about 8-12 hours at 3 amps with the vent caps off. I borrowed a charger from a friend. Make sure it is a trickle charge. Do not charge with jumper cables! After charging and before capping the battery, test the battery with a voltmeter. It should be at least 12v minimum. If it is not fully charged, continue charging. It is very difficult to remove the vent caps once they are on. At first glimpse, it seems as though the position of the mounting terminals will necessitate bending the tabs on the cables 90 degrees. I think DIRTYDUCK writes about this in his review. I thought I was going to have to do this too. Read on! Look at the photo of the battery terminals. They are rectangular and hollow. Four nuts ship with the battery and you must use all four nuts! After you get the battery placed onto the battery tray, place the smaller square nuts INSIDE the terminals and use the larger nuts on the outside face of the terminals. The screws provided will first go through your battery cable loop, then the large nut, then the battery terminal and into the small square threaded nut where it will tighten up nicely. See attached photo. I've had the battery for a few months now and absolutely no problems with it.

Much cheaper...
..than the HD part and fits my 2010 FLHR. I did need to modify the existing positive and negative cable ends to fit the posts on the battery, but it was a simple matter of bending those ends to a roughly 45* angle rather than the 90* angle the HD battery requires. Easily done with ViseGrips. Filling the battery is easy, follow the included instructions or you can store it dry to be used later. Not like the ready filled AGM batteries that sit on the dealers shelves for who knows how long. You get the full life from this battery. Charging is easy on a trickle charger or maintainer. I charged mine 48 hours and it showed 12.9v when I installed it. It comes with the nuts and bolts necessary for installation, just dab a little Vaseline on the terminals and the cable ends. I cut an old mouse pad to fit the bottom of the battery box to help with the vibration as well. Buttoned it all up, hit the starter and it spins my 96 incher as fast if not faster than the HD part. Run your old HD battery to the dealership and maybe they'll front you a core charge. Maybe not. Call to be sure, otherwise, drop it off at most any battery retailer for recycling.
