Functional Light Machete
I frequently use a machete around the farm and have used a number of styles of them over the years. The type of machete that is comfortable for an individual can vary greatly depending on your own size, strength, types of job you use it for and even how much room you have to swing and work with it.I have used this machete several times now to chop off cedar limbs, small tree limbs, wild rose bushes and a few poison ivy vines growing up my trees. At about .080” thick and 290 grams or 10 ¼ oz I would consider this a lightweight machete good for light work or those who just can’t tolerate swinging a full-size machete. I found I frequently had to use multiple swings to cut off some limbs.I personally prefer a little more heft and length, so for those who need a heavier duty machete this one is probably not for you. If you have the stamina to swing it, I would look at something at least 16 oz or more and at least 18” long and a thicker blade. My favorite machete is about 22” long and weights in at about 24 oz. The added weight will give you a lot more chopping power to snip off a limb with a single swipe instead of having to hit it 2 or 3 times with a light machete. The longer the machete, the further away it keeps your hand and arm from sharp briars and thorns and it can save a lot of bending over to reach something down low.I like:The machete came sharp and has stayed sharp so farFull tangStainless steelGrip is comfortable and secureWeight is reasonableThe saw cuts wellThe sheath seems well made but I notice that it is very difficult to slide the blade in without the saw tooth protector on.Concern:The saw is sharp which is good but I wish it had a better protector you could slide onto it to protect yourself from those sharp teeth when you don’t need them. You have to be very careful sliding on the thin little saw blade protector that came with this, it would be very easy to slip and get cut just trying to put it on. I am not really sure this protector is even meant to be reused. Please be careful.

Thick steel, sharp blades, chop or saw, good size, lightweight, comfortable to use.
This is no joke! I am a heavy gardener, and there are always those pesky branches that are too big for loppers and not big enough to drag out a chainsaw. This little tool works wonders. First of all, the blade is thick and sharp. I love that it has one side for chopping and the other for sawing. (It's pretty much all you will need.) The handle is comfortable and easy to grip. The blade length is good - about 16", which is enough to do the job, without weighing too much, or being hard to handle. As an older female, I appreciate that I can easily use this tool for many different jobs in my garden.

Exceeded my expectations
This machete is a bit smaller than I expected, which is my fault since the measurements are clearly stated. Looking at the size of it, I didn't expect it to perform anywhere near what larger machetes can do. I was surprised though, as this proved itself to be not one, but two useful tools! The handle is comfortable for both chopping or sawing, and it doesn't vibrate or feel cheap while doing either. The only thing that didn't exceed my expectations, was the sheathe. There's nothing about the sheathe that helps it deal with the saw part of the blade, so I don't see how it won't eventually shred that part of the sheathe as the blade is carried, drawn and holstered. The blade comes with a little disposable plastic piece over the saw teeth that protected the sheathe from damage during shipping, but that piece isn't made to be re-used each time, so I docked a star for that.Overall, this seems like a good buy at its current price and it performs well for something in its price range.

Thin Blade - Only Capable of Light Duty, If That
This machete looks pretty cool in the pictures. But if you want to use it for cutting anything more substantial than a flower stem, look elsewhere. The blade is only .070" thick. It actually bends. The saw teeth chew the sheath up when taking the machete in or out. Not impressed.

Great knife, terrible sheath
The machete itself is nice, the sheath not so much. Typically with a sheath for serrated blades, it would have a plastic insert. Not so much with this knife. There is no good way to reinsert the blade unless the thin plastic edge is put back on (not convenient). I anticipate the sheath will be shredded by summer's end. The blade is nice though. I like the serrated and flat sides. Versitile and I'm sure I'll find a million uses for this. All in all, a great blade. Sheath, no.

Meidocre machete
This machete would do most of the work you have on your yard. However, the saw side seems more robust than the blade side. The product quality is not exactly shown in the pictures. Mediocre craftsmanship at best. It's not very sharp, either. The saw has metal chips here and there (see the image). The blade side has uneven sections (see the picture). Black paint on the surface is not clean and has many imperfections that may cause corrosion in the long run.

Sharp, easy to hold.
This bad boy is sharp! We live in the sticks so it's always a constant battle with the vines and thorns. With this, it's going to make work so much easier. Now we get to feel like a jungle explored. The handle is nice and easy to hold, the blade is sharp and keeps its sharpness, and the sheath keeps everything safe when not in use. Highly recommend.

Very sharp!
It comes with a holster, but it's impossible to get it back in since the serrated edge keeps catching on the nylon.Having said that, it's very sharp and works well to clear brush.
