Best air conditioner I've ever owned. Had never heard of this brand, but the very uncommon high percentage of good reviews, and the fair price, led me to try this model out. Over the last 21 years, I've owned 7 air conditioners. Two were window units and 5 were portable units with exhaust hose. Until I got this Dreo unit just over 3 months ago of a HOT summer, the window units I had were traditionally always more effective at cooling a room than the portable units. Heck, 3 of the 5 portable units I owned didn't even produce cool air after less than a couple weeks of use. And prior to the Dreo, the other one I owned made it thru 3 summers, but didn't get all that cold, despite being a 10k BTU unit and the Dreo I got is only 8k BTU. But it gets COLD, and VERY fast. This 8k BTU Dreo portable unit puts out colder air than all 6 of the previous AC units I've owned. And those used more power too, 10k BTU each. The "swing" feature is also VERY effective at wafting the cold air all over the room, without need of a separate fan to move it all around. Very, very effective unit. The Android app is great; easier to use than the remote control, especially in the dark. I also like how you can turn off the unit's display completely, and the chime sound, to maje it easier to sleep. And the "sleep" setting is actually to make the compressor quieter and turn off and on again less frequently, making it easier to sleep thru.

Granted we've only had it a day now so who knows how it'll stand the test of time but so far it's excellent. It was significantly smaller & lighter than the one it was replacing so I was initially worried it wouldn't cool as well. This was definitely not the case, it cooled out room quickly & well. It's well made & looks nice. It was very straightforward to get set up, probably the least hassle out of any we've owned. There is a remote for it, & the app is awesome. It was super easy to pair to the app- it pretty much did everything itself- & you can do/view pretty much anything from the app. The app also has the user manual & maintenance on it, which is a blessing for people like me that lose literally everything. Works great, very impressed. Hopefully it stays that way. So far would definitely recommend.

Buy this--Dont waste your money on any other air conditioners- this is better than any window air conditioner, portable air conditioner and even beats split acs or heat pumps if you are to think of how much much it costs to get a heat pump installed for the whole house. I have had this portable air conditioner since April this year. The evaportator functions works as advertised. It is easy to install, has wheels, cools the room and surrrounding rooms excellently. It is less noisy than a portable air conditioner. The noise level is good and doesnt bother when I am sleeping but most nights I end up turning it off before I go to bed as the room is already cool from running it for a few hours in the evening. The air conditioner is well-built, I love the quality. The remote has its own spot where it magnetically attaches to the air conditioner. I can control the air conditioner through my phone and through my voice on Alexa, what more can I ask for, I love it. I wasted hundreds on other window air conditioners and nonsense fans and air coolers, dont waste your money. Buy this and you will not regrest your purchase, I am one happy customer.

I live in an old house with no ac and summers over 100 degrees. I finally broke down and bought the ac unit. It works well for the small space of my bedroom. The app is easy and convenient to use. There is also the option of a remote. I gave it four stars only because it’s loud when it “switches gears” (I have no clue what its actually doing but it makes a clunk sound when it is trying to maintain a temp once it’s reached). The tube that connects to the window also doesn’t fully click into place and it has fallen off the windows multiple times. Other than that, it definitely keeps my room cool!

Ok peeps, I hardly write reviews but I’m really impressed with this purchase! I live in So Cal - not really big needy on A/C, but yes summers are getting more humid than when I was a kid. Pair that with living in a 100 yr old building without central air (but pooled electric bill!) and I decided this was the year for shopping in this dept. I did a LOT a research, read a lot of reviews, parsed the pros & cons, and especially the prices. I wanted a unit that people rated the remote control & cooling as pros, I wanted to be able to control with an app when not home (to keep cat safely cool.) While there was a unit that was *slightly* better than this, the price on this unit made it a clear winner. When it arrived (thanks Amazon driver for bringing the box up the elevator to my door!!) all I had to do was lift the outer box off the styrofoam/particle board base, assemble the window slats and go! The remote sticks magnetically to the top of the unit, great because I use the app more often. It cools so quickly and covers a lot of sq ft!!! I love the fact that I can also use all the same functions on the front of the unit, if I’m running out the door, I can just tap it. 3 fan speeds + auto on the A/C, so there’s plenty of options. I may even try the dehumidifier if the traditional San Diego June gloom goes further into July! I don’t find it particularly loud, and I live in a corner studio. I’m used to it, it has become like a louder white noise. Can still watch tv and talk on the phone just fine. Super portable: I know it’ll roll into my closet just fine for storage. Bonus: about 2 months after I started using it, I realized I didn’t have the drainage hose to use with the dehumidifier function. I contacted DREO customer service - thru the app! Even the manual is available thru the app, so you can just recycle that paperwork! I asked if they could give me the dimension of the hose so I could buy a new one at my hardware store. Tina w their customer service had one at my door 3 business days later at no charge!! This is a really good product, I know it’ll last. I put it on a 3rd party payment plan and am so happy I splurged on this (it was a splurge in that I’m taking a few months to pay for it.) Trust my research, my frugal nature, and my recommendation here, you won’t be let down!

OK, maybe 4.7 stars? Only because the remote control unit is useless. But everything else about this machine is perfect. The makers invested quality time ensuring that assembly & installation were easy, fast, and reliable. The window inserts are sturdy and have a smart, easy-to-adjust wingnut & washer fastener, and multiple sizes of extenders, so I didn't have to hacksaw anything. The exhaust hose has factory-installed adapters at both ends that snap or slide securely into place in seconds. Handle insets on the sides make this thing easy to move even over deep pile carpeting. Cooling capacity is excellent in my PNW apartment, which runs 10-15 degrees warmer than outside temperature. I'm using this to cool about half of a 900 sq ft apartment, and it's absolute overkill for that space. This little beast maintained a glorious 68 degrees when it was in the high 80's outside, without any apparent strain. It also has fan-only operation, a timer, night mode, and the filter is extremely easy to reach for cleaning. I'm entirely happy with noise level, which seems comparable to the quieter portables I've owned (but note: I also like white noise for sleeping; YMMV). I've had zero problems with water accumulation or drainage. For reference, humidity in my apartment has been in the 54-61% range over the past month. I've had it running for a couple weeks, so I can't comment on durability yet, but I am super happy with it so far.

WOW! This is the absolute coolest air conditioner I've ever used! Not only is it stylish, it's functions are second to none, in my eyes anyway. I have fans that are way way louder than this machine. I went with a less expensive model in a different brand, it didn't work as it should and had to send it back. Since it was loud and I had to empty my water bucket twice a day, I decided to up my game and splurged little more and bought this! Man, I am thrilled I did! I set it to the lowest temp of 61° in a 70° room to see what it could do. Left the room, came back not quite an hour later and it was down to 62°....brrrrr! Love all the features and the app. Everything works as intended! I would buy this unit over and over again, in a heart beat. Super easy to install too! If your in need of a great air conditioner, do not hesitate on this one! On a side note, the only thing I would change about this unit, would be the finish, I'd prefer a matte rather than shiny but I can look past all that since it works like a dream!

I love the Dreo series; it’s easy to use, has great functions, and works seamlessly with both the app and the remote. It keeps my room very cold with no noise, and the sleep mode is completely silent. While it’s a bit heavy, it’s still easy to move around. I can’t comment on its lifespan yet, but I got it over the summer and it’s still working perfectly in December.
