The needles are fine
They're exactly what I ordered and I love the actual needles but I had to throw out the case. It had this wild, very chemical smell that wasn't going away with cleaning so I just got rid of it. Right out of the plastic. I don't understand it and I've never encountered something like that before.

Nice! A bit of a learning curve, but lovely needles.
I usually use circular or DPNs to knit with, but decided to buy this set. I’m using the size 10 to make a scarf. The scarf is a mash of various techniques and skills, some I’ve done before and some I’ve never done. These needles are great to use. They are well balanced and feel comfortable in the hands. There was a bit of a learning curve. I’m not used to having the extra needle length sticking out, but I’ll definitely make use of these for projects like scarves pot holders. I liked the feel of the Zing needles so much that I ordered an entire collection of 8” DPNs. Another positive aspect of the needles is the different sizes are different colored. Unless you are color-challenged, you won’t have trouble identifying the different needles from each other. That’s not an issue with a size 3 and 9, but it’s a big issue with a 2 & 3 or a 10 & 11. (Have you ever mixed a set of DPNs together and not realized until you were 2” into your project? No? Me neither. 😱)

Needles are great, the case is deplorable
*****This negative review and rating is toward the seller and about the case, NOT the needles.I chose to not listen to the few reviews regarding the odor of the case of the Knitters Pride Zing Straight Needles as scent is subjective and everyone is different....I wish i had. I preface all of the this with I have a nose of steel and can handle just about any odor in the air. I purchased these not only because of the positive reviews of the needles, from friends and the internet, but also because this set came with a convenient and quite nice case. When I received my package today, as soon as I opened the Amazon box, i could smell a super noxious odor and I immediately knew what it was. I just shook my head. I took the case out of the box and then took it out of its clear wrapping and holy moley, i kid you not....I literally gagged and ran to the bathroom to vomit. I cannot explain what it smells like but imagine a cross between some type of chemically oiled infused human waste. It literally smells like someone wiped their rear with whatever the case is lined with or the actual fabric of the case. I know it sounds dramatic but I am not exaggerating. I had to immediately put it outside as it had smelled my entire kitchen and sitting area. I also had to wash my hands bc the odor was all over them as well as change my shirt due to my hands touching the shirt...yes, simply touching my shirt!!!Needless to say, i paid the price for not only the needles but the case as well and will be contacting Knitters Pride to somehow fix this problem. I have since double bagged the zing case, sealed it shut and will be sending it to them along with a notarized document stating the condition of it.It is not fair to people to spend hard earned money on an item, to not be able to use what they paid for. Perhaps this was a bad batch, it happens but for Christs sake, the seller should have recalled the sets, removed the clear wrapping and made sure the sets did not stink like death. Seller could have recouped the money from Knitters Pride if that was the case. I fault the seller on this one...I will be requesting a new case from Knitter's Pride and will update this post for those of you who have also gone through this and lost the use of the case. I will also update the post as to the needles themselves which are, as I already know, in fine working order and to be expected. And for the record, the needles stink too. I will be washing them and hope that these are not a porous material that are now ruined. I will update on that also...

Exactly what I needed
I've done a couple of projects with these needles now, they are very durable. I love that they all are different colors to help me differentiate which sizes are which. Haven't used the bigger needles yet as I typically use fingering (sock) weight yarn.

Good Set of Needles
I had been looking for a good set of aluminum needles, and I have found it. These are smooth and lightweight, and the points are appropriately sharp. The colors are nice; and although I will eventually put these needles in my needle crock jar, the case is nice and keeps them secure in my bag. I haven't had them long enough to critique their durability, but I think they'll last for quite some time.

Nice needles but may want to buy another case.
The needles are fine. The case however, has a very strong unpleasant smell to it. I have tried to air it out since I bought them but it doesn’t go away. May want to buy a case for them separately.

Economical and Well Made Needles
I love these needles. Well crafted with smooth edges and tips. Easy to hold. Not for large pieces. I knitted a toddler sweater and socks just fine.
