Take a journey into British attics!
I always find watching Antiques Road show calming and relaxing. Interesting to see what the British keep hidden away in their attics and closets only to find out these items are priceless!

priceless antiques roadshow
Firstly I was a little disappointed when the set proved to be a new series of the show under the disguise of an historical review of the last 30 years, which we may have screened here in Australia at some future time.My major disappointment as an Australian viewer subject to continuous repeats of the series, dating back to the eighties, was the amount of non-antique reviews throughout the series. Whilst background info on the reviewers was OK, a great deal of more actual reviews particularly from the earlier years of the show would have made what is really an entertaining series of discs so much better. So, despite the fact that the title of this set of discs in no way adequately described the actual content I was pleased with the overall production when compared with the butchering of the programme here by a commercial free to air channel

Disappointing
Rather tedious to watch as each short episode is trailered first then same footage repeated. Also when items are shown they are cut short so often the fun bits, such as valuation, are not included. So disappointing. With some much recorded footage a much more interesting set of programmes should have been possible.

Ok though too much talking in between sketches.
It's entertaining. The only minus, in my opinion, is that the lady the speaks between sketches is shown a lot longer than necessary, reducing the amount of time left for the actual sketches of the events (which is the only reason why you are buying the DVD).

Whatever...
I have always loved the antiques roadshow. This compilation series is a real disappointment, given the exceptionally large archive available to work from. Fiona Bruce talks WAY too much, with lots of irrelevant stories. Each program also has a prelude, which shows you everything that will be good on the program. If you want to find out more about the presenters then this series could appeal to you, but for the normal antiques roadshow fan this series is best avoided.
