The songs included are popular and really helped me get back into playing the accordian after being away from playing for 20 years.

Read the subtitle--"accessible, must know favorites". Acessible means easy to intermediate. As an intermediate player, the arrangements are decent and can be improved simply by adding some triads to the right hand. A beginning busker accordionist should find an adequate selection to offer passersby. As a hobbyist, I wish there were fewer page turns-- but with some cello tape and a copier the problem can be easily solved. With 50 songs at this price--a player can easily deal with page turns and doctoring the collection.

This book does have 50 songs (though I probably won't ever play most of them because they are not my songs I like). It includes treble and bass clef notes along with chords and even has notations over the bass clef to signify which notes are of minor/7th/dim chords. The pages are a bit larger than I would like and most songs take up three or four pages. (I like to copy the pages on my printer and the book's pages are so large that I have to adjust the percentage size for that to work. Also, I am not used to having to turn multiple pages back and forth to play songs and my music holder is just big enough for two or three pages at a time.) Both problems are not difficult to overcome.

Lots of songs people ask for. They are tried and true favorite songs and easy to play for us old folks

This is a collection of true popular classics of yesteryear. All are immediately recognizable - and kind of remind me of the old Lawrence Welk show (in a positive way). The arrangements are relatively simple and I found I could sight read most of them right off the bat. Another reviewer has noted that the book requires a LOT of page turning to complete a piece while reading the page. I agree with that assessment. However, that encourages memorization to eventually play the numbers without the book.Overall - It's a great collection and i'm enjoying learning to play many of the songs by heart.

Easy read for notes and chords. I wish the binding came in spiral. Tough to put a music stand or table. Song selection is OK
