Bought this for my 9th grader. It came quickly & has lovely pictures. It is however way too basic for a 9th grader. Rec for 6th grader or younger who loves brilliant pix. Mostly 1 small paragraph to explain each pix or definition. Not academic at all.

I bought go t this book for my 10 year old daughter for her birthday,who wants to be a marine biologist. The pictures are fabulous and it’s very informative. I was wondering if it might be a bit advanced for her but actually it’s spot on. Great for adults and kids alike. A really nice solid book for reference- thoroughly recommend!

My almost 6 year old is passionate about all things marine, and is absolutely fascinated by this book. In addition to the glorious pictures, there are short explanations of the science behind each picture which convey a lot of quite complex ideas in user-friendly terms. It's not a book targeted at children, but can be enjoyed with children, educating parent and child alike.
