Fieldpiece SMAN460 Wireless 4-Port Digital Manifold with Micron Gauge

I have to say I was skeptical on buying a Fieldpiece tool. In the past the brand has been primarily designed for residential technicians. As a large commercial technician I have used the other yellow brand. But I took a chance and purchased this unit along with the JL2. At the same time apple changed to the iOS9. The Sman460 and the JL2 would not communicate. At first it was very frustrating, but! After talking with Fieldpiece staff they assured me they were working hard on the issue. Of course we hear that all the time, but in fact they were working on it and the Engineering Dept. called me three separate times and kept me advised of the progress. The final call was to say the glitch was fixed, and guess what? It worked perfect!!! I am now a dedicated user of Fieldpiece. The customer service is beyond my Expectations. I will be purchasing several of these units, they are truly amazing in the field. I hope they incorporate Refrigeration Equipment into the system. That is in a perfect world. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get this issue worked out.

I own both a set of the SMAN 460 and SMAN 360 gauges love them both. I bought the 460s and a JB 7CFM Platinum vacuum pump as to vac systems down faster as I install 2 or more mini-splits a day along with other things. These gauges are amazing. The 3/8" hose makes pulling a vacuum quickly and doing a triple evac easy as you don't need to disconnect the hose from your pump to bleed nitrogen to break the vacuum. I did have a small issue with the manifold about 3 months after i bought them. The low side screen just read OL in all three sections. I called Fieldpiece and they told me to get to a distributor and they'd get me a new manifold. Over my lunch break i went to Gensco and called them back they spoke with the branch manager for like 2 minutes and i walked out the door with a brand new manifold. They have excellent customer service.

Unit works as advertised. Kinda heavy when carrying around to the backside of large house. Auto super-heat calculation is very handy. Included temp sensors for the liquid and vapor pipes very nice. Display is large and easy to read in bright sunlight. Have not tried the wireless features yet. Had it connected in parallel with an analog gauge set and it read exactly the same.

Overall a great product. Right out of the box I had issues using the built in micron gauge. It didn't work. Also it wouldn't calibrate to 00.0 psig. I was really dismayed about my Sman 460 purchase. I contacted Amazon customer service by email and told them it didn't work correctly and I wanted to return it for an exchange. I received an email back in less then five minutes. Telling me they were sorry for my trouble. And they had already issued me another one and it would be at my home in two days and that's counting the day I email them. (Did email them early in the morn.) Sure enough it was in my hands the next day after noon. I was some what skeptical about this product after that. However, I tested it and worked great no problems. Calibrated right on the money, the micron gauge worked great. I ran quite few test with out a hitch. Overall a great product and great Amazon customer service...Thank You.

This was a dream to use...with integrated vacuum gauge pulling vacuum was easy. With the clamp on thermocouples to measure actual line temps and have the unit calculate superheat or supercool, depending on system...this made charging the system real easy, no need to calculate and take measurement, it does it all as a unit. I should've bought one sooner...glad I did anyway.

gauges were great then all of a sudden after 7 months very little use can't zero low side, tried cleaning etc. still shows -15 kinda throws everything off. very easy to use guess have to send to fieldpiece.

I recommend it to anyone.

Great piece of equipment 4 stars only because for the price it should connect to your cellphone or tablet with out the need of a additional device
