Great desktop fidget. Ordered & donated as a Sensory Room fidget, now getting one for myself!
So adorable! Slide the funny little woodpecker to the top of the pole then wait for it. Try to be patient and resist the urge to encourage the little fella with a gentle nudge, though in the end it might be necessary, But try to give him the chance to prove himself, lol. So much fun to watch him jiggle his way down the pole, pecking away as he goes. Ingenious and simple.....a simple lesson in basic physics! Every physics teacher should have one of these little guys on his desk at school.....along with the "Balancing Eagle" on a little plastic display stand, and also one of those metal balancing images of his favorite sport or activity, and one of those woodpeckers with the fuzzy beaks that are drawn to dipping their beaks continually down to a cup of water, Great little items, all.

Adorable!
The media could not be loaded. This little woodpecker is so well made. I initially bought it for my cats.. but they would destroy it. I show it to them, but I keep it at my work area. Great price, and great quality. So cute! Kids love it.. not just cats! Ha!

A Silly, Cute Toy That Keeps My Kids Entertained
My son’s doctor has this little bird toy in her office, and he is absolutely obsessed with it! Every time we go, it’s the first thing he grabs, and it always gets a laugh out of him. I decided to get one for our house because it’s small, silly, and so cute—just the kind of lighthearted toy that brings joy without taking up a ton of space. That said, I’ve noticed a couple of things about it that could be improved. The bird doesn’t slide down the pole as easily as I expected, and I’ve had to help it along a bit. It’s possible I’m not using it correctly, but I feel like it should work a little more smoothly. Also, the base isn’t connected to the pole, so when my son gets a bit rough with it (as toddlers do), it has fallen apart a couple of times. It’s nothing major and easy to put back together, but something to keep in mind if your little one is on the energetic side like mine.Overall, this is a cute toy that provides a lot of laughs for such a simple design. For the price, it’s definitely worth it, and it’s become a fun little distraction that both of my kids enjoy. I love finding toys like this that entertain without all the bells and whistles—just good, clean fun!

I love this Woodpecker!
The media could not be loaded. I cannot believe I was deprived of this cute little toy when I was young. It's so cute! This is going in my Grandson's Easter basket and I know he's going to love it.This Schylling Woodpecker comes disassembled, but all you do is stick the metal bar into the hole in the wood platform. It stand approximately 17 inches tall.I posted a video to see him in action. He's really cuteHighly recommend this cute little toy.

Probably not good for kids
Might be more interesting if it made some noise, but the woodpecker just wobbles down a wire. Note, if showing this to kids, be sure to keep it up high and not on the floor... the wire pole sticks up and could be dangerous for small kids running around and tripping and impaling their face right on top of this thing. I do not recommend this, it's not really fun and when a kid sees it once or twice quickly loses interest.
