This may sound really dumb, but how does one remove a bit from the magnetic holder that was in its own bubble, the "magnetic screw lock sleeve"?

I just got mine today. That bit pulls out from the back. I had to wiggle it around quite a bit, and then it came out. It gets easier after you do it a few times. It took me a minute to figure out how to use it. The bits push in from the back, you only use the long bits. It only made sense once I put it in my screw gun. The sleeve slides back on the bit enough to expose the tip. Then you can put a screw on it, and the magnet/sleeve holds the screw in place. That's their theory at least lol. I haven't tried it yet. It seems a little awkward, but I guess you could get used to it if you're putting in a bunch of screws.

Can I use them with Black & Decker LDX120C 20-Volt Drill?

yes anything with standard chuck should work if the chuck is 3/8 some larger bits might not fit!1/2 bits probably wont fit!

What's the trick in getting these bits back into their plastic holding place? It seems to only bend the plastic.

Contrary to some answers, the case is very well designed and there is a very simple way of getting the bits back into the case. All you have to do is turn the bit with the flat sides to either side (pointy side to the front , back) then slide it down into the empty slotted area; there should be no resistance if done correctly. The simply push the bits back down seating it into the holder. It's as simple as that.
