This little thing works pretty well. It's small and isn't very loud. My cat, who is super floofy, gets trimmed (not shaved down to skin) every few months so her collar fits better, for her rump, and grinch feet. She tolerates it well and is used to this. If your critter is fluffy, there's a good chance it'll jam up a bit by the blades, rather often, so you need to manually remove the floof. It doesn't take long, but on higher-quality or larger trimmers, that's not an issue. The battery seems good, and it's easy to change the guards. I recommend it for folks who need a very occasional trim, but not for frequent ones.

I have a long haired cat that has always been able to keep up with grooming by herself but she ended up with one solid mat of hair on her back. It took quite a few days of shaving her but I finally got it off. The technique that seemed to work was for each swipe, to start off in a parallel position to her body and then kind of scoop/arc up. Didn't use any of the accessories. The blade seemed sharp enough and the battery life seems OK. Not sure I am going to get to use it a lot more so can't speak for long term.

I have had cats who need hygenic clips for various reasons over the years, so I always keep quiet, rechargeable pet clippers on hand. The ones I've had since 2016 are no longer available, nor are the blades, so it was time to find something else. This one got good reviews and a lot of them talked about how quiet this was, so I decided to try it out. Anytime I get new clippers or blades, I usually try them out on my legs first, just to make sure I know how they'll perform on my kitties' sensitive tushies. It gives me first hand knowledge of any sharp angles on the blades, lets me find the best angle, and lets me know how much vibration the product produces when in use. I bought these knowing that my little girl needed a grooming, and was planning the typical adjustment strategies for a new blade and clipper while going through my test, when my kitty amazed me by coming up to me and letting me know she was ready for her clip! iykyk, but this little girl usually provides me a robust session of chase, stretch and cajole before agreeing to this treatment, so the fact she came up to me says a lot about the quietness of this clipper. I don't know enough about clippers to know what is better with this design than the ones I've had before, but I was able to clip her without a guard in less than 5 minutes, where the previous clippers required about 15 minutes to work around all her sensitive areas and get a nice, close clip. I also found it easy to slightly adjust the angle to get a slightly longer clip on her thighs, which we normally keep short to avoid matting. While I absolutely gave my little girl treats for her cooperation, she wasn't irritated with the experience afterwards, like she usually is. I'm so glad to find these so quickly!

Works so good! Quiet enough to not scare my cat!
