Hot plate and magnetic stirrer
My grandson loves it. That’s all I can possibly say about it

5 stars IF heater had lower start temperature
I love it! I just can’t give it 5 stars due to low temp heating is hard. Sometimes find my self turning it on and off for electroplating thus changing results each batch. Would have been better if it had a lower start temp.

Power Connection is Poor
This has poor build quality, but was able to work around that issue. There is a connection problem in mine. It would not power on despite being well plugged in. I jiggled the cord attachment to the unit and it powered on. It seems there is an internal connection that is loose. I nearly returned it, but as long as I have the cord positioned well and don't move the cord, then it works. it is not particularly effective at stirring anything viscous, and I wish it had a slower stir setting. it it takes a long time to heat up a thing, I think due to the slightly convex shape of the hot plate - it doesn't make the best contact with the beaker bottom surface. all that being said, it was a helpful setup with the stand, that enabled me to monitor the temperature of my solution

This multi-functional tool arrives in a recyclable cardboard box, making it a thoughtful choice for sustainability. Alongside the main unit, you receive several useful accessories, including a power cable with a UK mains plug, a manual, a spare fuse, a single stir bar, a thermometer, and a thermometer holder. These additions enhance its functionality, offering greater versatility in use. The build quality is impressive, with a sturdy and durable design that feels well-made and reliable. The aluminum hotplate is a particularly strong feature, making the tool easy to clean while ensuring efficient heat distribution. It wouldn’t feel out of place in a professional laboratory or a school science lab, highlighting its high-performance capabilities. One of the major advantages is its ease of use, thanks to the two control dials—one for stirring speed and another for temperature control. These can be used independently or together, allowing for customization depending on the task. However, a significant drawback is the lack of markings on either dial, which means you have no way of knowing the exact speed or temperature settings. This forces experimentation, which can lead to materials being under- or over-mixed, potentially wasting expensive supplies—a frustrating limitation. Once you find the right adjustment, the tool does a fantastic job of mixing, offering good dispersion at both the top and bottom of the mixing pot. However, when it comes to heating, the performance is less consistent. To measure temperature, you need to attach the included thermometer and holder, but the thermometer itself resembles a standard kitchen version and isn’t always reliable, which is concerning given the device can exceed 200°C. Additionally, the machine lacks a timer function, meaning you must supervise it constantly, particularly at higher speeds. It’s not something you can leave unattended, which could be inconvenient for certain applications. Despite these drawbacks, this tool excels as a mixer, making it perfect for working with paints, glitters, and resins. Given that you’re getting both mixing and heating capabilities at a reasonable price, it’s a solid purchase, though its limitations in precise temperature control make it better suited as a mixer rather than a heated mixer.

Very good quality Only shame is that thermometer isn't integrated with hot plate

This is really nicely made, well the main unit is. The heating up is very good and gets up to temp in a decent enough amount of time, although it would be nice to be a bit quicker. The heat distribution is ok but not even across the plate, which was expected. My main issue, whilst not terrible is that the whole stirring mechanism is a bit poor and not really that well done. It all seems a little flimsy, but it does work, so it's not a terrible issue and still ends with 4 stars, which is fine.

This is a fairly simple stirrer/hotplate combination suitable for small to medium sized beakers or flasks. The controls are pretty rudimentary, just uncalibrated knobs which affect the speed of stirring and the heat of the plate. Fine control of the temperature is definitely left to the user with a somewhat handy thermometer being included (along with a stand that can hold it in place). The lack of more automated temperature control does make this a touch fiddly to use - however, that's probably an acceptable compromise given the price. Overall, this is fine for casual use.

This tool arrives in a easy to recycle cardboard box. As well as the tool you also get some rather useful accessories. A power cable with a UK mains plug, manual, a spare fuse and a single stir bar. Plus a thermometer and a thermometer holder. The tool is incredibly well made, so it's very sturdy, durable and easy to clean. Especially the hotplate which is made from aluminum. Something that wouldn't feel out of place in a professional laboratory or a school science lab. It's also really easy to use, especially as it has 2 control dials. One for stirring speed and one for temperature, controls that that can be used together or independently. However there's no markings on either dial, which means you have no way of knowing what the stirring speed and temperature is. Hence you have to experiment by moving the dials slowly until you reach the desired settings. Which, for the stirring mode, can result in materials being under or over mixed and in some situations that can mean expensive materials being wasted. Something that can be frustrating. Though once you find the sweet place on the dial, it can do a very job at mixing stuff. With a good dispersion of materials at both the top and bottom of the mixing pot. Though it's slightly less good when it comes to heating things. To know a temperature you need to fit the thermometer and the thermometer holder. While both parts fit securely the thermometer, which looks and works like something from your kitchen, the thermometer isn't always very accurate. Which, given this machine can heat things to over 200 degrees centigrade, was a tad worrying. Plus this machine doesn't have a timer function either, and given it can reach some very high speeds, so you'll need to observe it all the time. It's not something that you could risk leaving unattended. That aside it's a very effective tool, something I found to be perfect for mixing paints, glitters and resins. Overall ? Yes it's a nice bit of equipment, especially given you get two features for a reasonable price. However the lack of accurate controls, especially precise temperature control, means it's best suited as a mixer rather than a heated mixer.
