Perfect for displaying my pistols, doesn't have to be bolted down but can be.

Very springy
I use the six I purchased to display antique flintlock pistols and found that when setting on a bookcase shelf, the pistols bounce when anyone walks past. There's no danger of damage, but I was surprised that they weren't sufficiently rigid to prevent that.
