Awesome classic knife.
Bought as a groomsman gift and my friend carries it every day. When I had my hands on it, the knife seemed extremely solid and well made. Awesome classic knife.

I've owned more than one.
I like it for EDC. Not a pry bar.

High quality, very thin.
I used to EDC a Black Cat version in high school but it got lost many years ago. Now I have an all Stainless one and I remember why I carried it everywhere. This knife is very thin and light, it feels like a pocket comb in your pocket. The stainless is done very tastefully with a nice otter on the satin finish grip. With a little Mothers Metal polish, the flat ground blade turns into a mirror. The blade is 3 1/2" long and has no wiggle when it's locked in position. Very nice, inexpensive, attractive daily carry knife for civilized people.

150+ year old knife design
This Mercator type of pocketknife was produced in Germany since around 1867. I collect useful type knives not something that just looks pretty, (usually). This is my second Mercator knife. The first was the Black K55K in carbon. I like this blade design for general purpose especially for food prep. I have been trying different 'Sod/Dirt Buster' type knives for awhile for food prep but they are all not suitable for constant food and washing until this one. The carbon version came close but it's getting a patina. This for me is the perfect one for food/wet usage. Very sharp out the box, blade centered. This one snaps close and open with more snappiness probably because the paint on the Black Version deadens the noise a bit. Sharp spine for striking a Ferro rod. It's solid as rock and a part of history. Stainless for food and Carbon for dry cutting, perfect duo. No problem shipping to Canada. I put one star for thickness and warmth cause it's thin and cold.
