Wow this is a game changer, makes bbq much easier and tastier especially with the smoker function. Easy to set up and use, easy to clean the plate once cooled. You can cook so many different things and there are a range of cooking method options. Purchased a flat plate as well, you can even do a fried breakfast easily.

This is really a first impression review after limited uses. Our background is we love garden meals from a BBQ and over the years have had everything from little table top Hibashis to large gas ignition kettles. This is our first experience of using anything other than normal fuel though. We were considering a Woodfire for those occasions when we just wanted a bbq meal for the two of us so not worth powering up our large kettle BBQ and maybe also as a backup for big family events when our normal BBQ is struggling with capacity but I can see the Woodfire getting a lot more use than expected. The fist impression was very good except getting the package up the stairs and into our town house garden as It is seriously heavy !! Fortunately the makers have had some sympathy for the buyer as the box lifts off it rather than try to lift it out of the box. Getting it ready for use was little more than just removing all the packing. Plan A was to place it on an existing garden work surface we use when BBQing but it seemed a little high so a quick order was placed for the Ninja base. The base is highly recommended and worth the extra as it is just right and the steel legs adjust for height. Now on to first use. We decided on some chicken breasts as an easy meal for testing but it did take a while to read and digest the instructions. I am sure they could be a lot more straightforward. In the end it was a lot easier than the instructions seemed to indicate. Fill the wood hopper and turn it on via the electrical safety device built in to the mains plug, select Woodfire on the display and plug in the temperature probe after inserting it into the chicken. Now the hard part. Select Chicken on the display and press Start. Oddly enough on a stone cold BBQ !! That's it. When the chicken reached the correct temperature the display on the front changed to GET FOOD and we enjoyed a perfectly cooked meal with a wonderful BBQ taste. Cleaning up consisted of running the grill under the tap and wiping out the inside of the lid. If there is a downside it is that it really is too easy. It seems to be a male skill to cook with BBQs while ensuring the beer and wine is at a suitable temperature and safe to drink while the partner does the boring part of getting salad and vegetables ready. Really with the Woodfire I have little to to other than spend a little more time checking the wine. Now we just need some warmer weather.

What a great product. This is so easy compared to a traditional barbecue! Ok so maybe for the purist who wants flames etc it’s not the real thing. But it makes great food. My first attempt was some ribs - pre marinated from Costco. I used the appropriate setting added my wood chips and viola! “Probably the best ribs I have ever had said my wife and grown up kids”. A few days later a whole chicken, using the probe attachment made it perfect, cooked well but still moist inside. Finally a whole shoulder of lamb- again using the probe. Cleaning is so much easier than a traditional barbecue and so is start up. If you have people for lunch you are not stuck at the end of the garden tending the flames, this does most of the work for you. Is it easy - yes Does it make great tasting food - yes. What’s not to like!

Love my Ninja Pro OG XL WF Grill. Used it all summer and will do so over the next seasons to come. I have been and will continue to put it through its paces. I am still learning about certain features but clean ups are fast and easy. I will need to eventually clean the inside. YouTube is a wonderful thing for that. We can’t have flamed BBQs where we live so this 100% fits the bill. Highly recommend.
