This book has colorful pages and large print . Easy to read .. bought one of these 20’years ago for my Son.. My granddaughter wanted one . I found one one Amazon!! I wrote her a special note in it so she can keep forever and pass on . She loves it . We read it before bed.

I give it 5 stars actually but since 5-star reviews are viewed with suspicion as shills, I put down 4 but then since then upped it back to 5.Pros: simple, uncluttered bible. I show my son the words so he will recognize them for himself. Really, fancier bibles are to hook the parents in but this is just what a small child needs. I bought the Jesus Storybook bible at the same time, but found it too complicated.Daily, we read one new story, and revise the story read yesterday. I show him yesterday's story and ask him what it was about.So I am also exercising his memory and helping him learn to read.Important! Parents, do not blindly read the story to your child but also engage in the story yourself. For instance, what is God saying to you when *you* read the story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man who was lowered through the roof by his friends with faith? Then tell your child what struck you as you are reading.Cons: All the good guys have beards; only women, angels and bad guys are clean shaven. I wonder if Karyn Henley's husband is bearded!

Great book for Kids to understand bible stories.

Love this version of the children's bible and wish it was still in publication. I have had to settle for buying several used copies for my preschool sunday school class, but the kids don't mind. One parent just told me the other day that they just finished going through all the stories from a copy I gave them a year ago and that their 4 year old boy asked every night to read his "Jesus book" and so they are starting it over from the beginning. It has child friendly pictures and just the right amount of words for a preschooler. I also like to use the old Beginner's Bible videos to go along with these stories and the Beginner's Bible felt storyboard figures. Just sorry I can only find the videos on VHS- these are great products and should be redistributed on DVD.

This bible is just the one I read when I was a child. I purchased this for my daughter whom is learning to read. I look at several different bibles for children and was not satisfied with the quality (biblical accuracy) of the stories and the amount of the stories within a given bible. I managed to find a used version of this from when I was a child and am completely happy. You have to be careful however because the company that produced this bible produced a newer version with the same title by a different author that just falls short with its stories and detail. That version actually looks almost identical to this one, so if you do some research you will have a wonderful bible to read to your children and have them read to you at this amazing time in their developmental lives.

I buy these very often to give to English learners as a gift from me (not the school, of course). Pictures are a great help in learning, and the vocabulary is easy enough for adult learners to understand and pronounce. What a great gift, in so many ways. My students love them, too. There are many stories in them, so they can just read one story at a sitting without getting overwhelmed, plus, many of the students are already somewhat familiar with the stories, so that makes it easier, too. Then one other thing, the children of my students can read these with or to their parents, again, because the language is simple, and the pictures make it more understandable (in many cases, they're also funny as everything).
