this is the one I wanted and it good to clear water up. That water will be tasting good once I get installed for my old one has a slow leak that I can't fix, but will replace it with this one over the weekend when I know I have to time to mess with it. Now an update on this. The filter is installed and water pressure is better, being the old one leaked, and this on look sharp! With the clear cup on it, you can tell when you need to change your filter! Without taking it apart to check it👍👊

Good product from a good manufacturer. Charcoal filter and I have good tasting water.

It is a great product. Super durable and fits perfect. Great ease of use and clarity. Works great all around. I would request a replacement because mine had been leaking but I don’t have the time to send things back and do all that. Still recommend the product to anyone, good product other than that.

Functional. It works as it should. These need to be replaced every few years depending upon the quality of the water supply, and this was a relatively cheap replacement for my older one (DuPont). I gave it 4 stars because it had a small leak for a couple of weeks around the lip of the sump. After changing the filter and using some silicone grease on the o-ring and the lip of the sump, it has functioned perfectly.

[1] No plumbing adapters, which is fine as parts are easy enough to find at most big box store or online if you know what your looking for. [2] Build quality is VERY STOUT, much beefier then previous versions. [3] Dimension across the side flats (faces of the 3/4" FIP holes) is 5.125" (5-1/8"). This can be a consideration if searching for a direct swap for an existing installed unit (of same brand or other) that is being replaced.

Excellent filter, easy install, no leaks, would buy again

I use the 10" whole-house filter for drinking water located under the kitchen sink. I make carbonated water so the housing has a coconut carbon filter cartridge installed. The Pentair Pentek has an integrated bracket for mounting. This is so much less expensive as no separate bracket has to be purchased for $8 to $14 to mount the housing. It also comes with a bowl wrench which is also a separate purchase with other filters housings which cost $9 to $13. These two add-ons increase total price yet the Pentair is an all-in-one kit! This filter housing does not have a shut-off valve yet for my application this is not required. For a whole house application ball valves are installed on either side of the housing. Then a housing shut-off is not required. Ball valves are also very trouble-free. If a 3/4" NPT connection is not required - as this housing is - then the 'Pentair Pentek 158643 3G Slim Line Filter Housing, 3/8" NPT #10 Under Sink Clear Water Filter Housing, Integral Bracket Cap with Pressure Relief Button, 10 Inch, Blue/Clear' is a better choice yet my not include a wrench.

Did not come with the O-Ring so it did not seal. Had to buy the o-ring separately which was another $12
