COLORCHARM Semi-Permanent Hair Color

Awesome for color correction for brassy demi permanent browns
I add about a 1/4 of this tube to a demi permanent brown that's too brassy/ orange to neutralize it and it works amazingly well for that.

Looks and smells good!
I have been using this Wella semi-permanent hair color for about 4 years now, and am very pleased with the results. After originally getting a recommendation from an "aisle expert" at a local beauty supply chain store, I changed to ordering from Amazon due to the cheaper price and of course, convenience! My original shade was the Lagoon Blue, and then over time, I also applied the Wild Orchard and Raspberry colors. Currently (2nd pic above) I have all three colors in an attempt to do an ombre, but which turned out more of a swirl of the three shades, since my bleached area is only in the bangs and very front of crown. The color applies nicely using a brush or fingers, and I really like the scent, which is rich smelling. I normally attempt to avoid scented things just due to sensitivity, but this hair color has never bothered me. In fact it is very pleasant. The color lasts well. I normally shampoo with color-safe shampoo/condition every other day (or sometimes, every third day) to help the color last longer. I touch-up the color about every two or three weeks, and let is sit under a cap for around 2-ish hours. With my small color area, I can get several applications from one tube.Unless I want to go a different route with my color, I plan on sticking with this brand since I like the results. In the future, I may try a different brand just for a completely different color, but in the meantime, I'll stick with this Wella product and recommend highly.

Did not work for me at all!
I was so excited to try this after seeing the beautiful pictures posted here using the “Chrome” color. I wanted to go gray/platinum gray but did not work for me at all!! My stylist lightened my hair 2 weeks ago in preparation to go gray but I did not want to wait till she got back from vacation to do it. She usually does blonde highlights on a light brown base that had always looked very stylish but I just wanted a change. My hair has an asymmetrical bob cut, chin length. My hair is fine but this Chrome paint did not even cover my white/grey roots!! Granted, it tamed my brassy ends (after the lightening) but did nothing for the white/grey roots although I left it on for almost 2 hours under a shower cap. My hair does not look even close to silver grey at all. I also want to point out that 1 tube does not seem to be enough although all reviews mentioned using only one tube? In my opinion this “paint” needed a developer, at least on my hair. I would love to hear from the manufacturer & from the ladies that used it successfully, achieving such beautiful results… as well.Sad to say that for me it was a total waste of 2 hours of my time on a Sunday afternoon!! Any input is welcome.

This is the best product out there!!
I’ve been using Wella Color Charms for years now because it’s the most vibrant and longest lasting color on the market. I’ve used the fuchsia countless times and I just changed to blood orange. It also smells pretty good compared to other dyes. I highly recommend leaving the dye in your hair for at least 1-2 hours for it to be super vibrant. I also don’t wash my hair with shampoo for 3-4 days after dying it to help the color fully absorb into my hair. I’ve tried Ion, Xmondo, and other random brands from Sally’s, but I swear by Wella Color Charms! Just buy the product already!

It did what I wanted it to do
UPDATE: the first time I did my hair, I used less than half the tube thinking I can get away with having more color to use lol.. Anywaayyy, this time after it faded a couple weeks in, I used the remaining of the tub which was about 2/3s and my hair actually turned the steel amethyst and I loooveeee it. I still stand by what I said if you're looking for a "toner" , this works too but it's also great as a color! ORIGINAL: Okie.. I've been learning about hair for years now but not a stylist or anything. This was my first time dying my own hair after cutting it all off from having blue hair 🤪 once I got tired of it. So, I used wella bleach and a 20 vol to lighten. Ended up doing two bleach sessions over 2 days.. About 50/40 minutes respectively and that got me to a medium blonde (lvl 6/7 ish) .. Since my hair was so dang yellow.. I knew based on color theory, that purple would cancel yellow (thanks Brad Mondo 😁) and make a nice dirty blonde so I got the smokey amethyst and put it on my bleached hair for about 25 mins. It came out a nice ashy medium brown with a hint of purple and I'm very very happy with the results. So I think I'd buy this if I wanted to add a different color but my hair would need another bleach session for vivid color which I think was a common mistake among the other reviewers.. I bought this to balance tones instead of using a toner. Love that I don't have to double (or triple) process (adding more developer) to apply this and it does the trick! I'm sure it'll fade relatively quickly since it's semi-permanent, but that's expected.. I intend to touch it up every few weeks/each month and am excited to try some different tints of blonde as I grow my hair back out ☺️
