I bought these "heavy duty" wheels for a few reasons. The biggest reason was the added height, followed by how easily they roll. Installation was easy enough and they were great for the first few weeks. Then I kept finding little metal balls on the floor. After a few days of this I started having problems rolling around. The wheels would get stuck in certain directions. Soon enough I realized that it was these wheels that were falling apart. The plate at the bottom of the stem would get bent and the ball bearings would go flying. Eventually the wheel itself bent causing the locking.I know I'm a big dude at 6'1, 540lbs. Which is why I selected these wheels which advertise "up to 650 lbs with all 5 wheels". I was also fully willing to accept that maybe I received a bad batch. So I purchased two more times for my office chairs at the office and my home. The same thing happened again in both places. At this point I have to say it's the poor construction of the wheel. While they're probably great at lower loads, do not rely on the description.

I replaced 4 chairs in my house because we installed hardwood. This is one of those crazy no-shoes type households, and although these things are great and smooth, they are super dangerous for barefeet. Guaranteed it will jack your feet up- while rolling it will suck in any meaty parts (like your heels) between the rubber and the hard metal "fender". Obviously these things are built for offices and such and you will be wearing shoes, so I won't fault the company, but for those of you who are using this in your home and you are bare feet... buyer beware! Especially for children's chairs- they will most likely break their toes with these casters. And unfortunately all "rollerblade" style casters are built the same with no safety features to prevent this so there is your trade off.

These caster wheels were more expensive, but seemed better built so I ordered them. I was happy with the build quality of the metal frame, poly wheels and bearings on shaft. I installed them on my chair. They are solid and built well. When I put the chair in the kitchen, they wheels swiveled well on tile floor and felt tight. But when I put chair on the carpet at my computer desk the wheels would dig in and not swivel. These are top notch wheels for tile or linoleum, but they dont seem to work well for me on medium depth carpet.

I received these in very quick time and was able to install them with no problems in just a few mins. What was surprising to me was how SLICKLY they rolled across the floor mat and on the linoleum. I have similar wheels on my office chair but also a thin carpet for them to roll across. Out at the reception desk, it's just the lino and these wheels really MOVE. It's fun, feeling like you are gliding across ice, so smooth. But be careful! They will move away from you very quickly plus leaning out of your chair to pick up something from the floor or a lower desk draw could cause them to shoot right out from under you. We posted a sign on the chair itself about the new wheels so everyone now knows to be careful when sitting there.

My husband is a Big Boy at 6'4" and 240, his office chair doesn't tend to last him too long due to him being big and flopping in it, lol. Thankfully there are nice replacement parts for them now. These wheels are significantly better than the original wheels that were on the chair when we purchased it and look much nicer too. they glide nice and smooth across his floor mat and even nicer on linoleum. They were easy enough to change out, the hardest part was getting the old ones off. Definitely worth the price, good value and they have last with no issue what so ever so far!

I came around this product when I was looking for wheels for my office chair that wouldn't scratch the floor. I did not expect them to be SO FREAKING GOOD. It goes so far beyond just absence of scratches on the floor. The grip is amazing, the ease of movement is awesome. There is a big downside though: me and my colleague have become so lazy to stand up and we started to ride in our chairs inside the office lol. That's how good this wheels are! I could never go back to the regular plastic wheels that comes with most chairs ever again. This time I was ordering a chair for my apartment and I got this wheels at once. They are amazing. You won't regret it. There is just one thing I have to warn you about (for real this time). They are slightly taller than the plastic wheels that comes with most chairs, and it is not too big of a deal, but it is possible that the chair arm support (if any) wills stop fitting under your desk if there were very small gap with the out-of-chair-box wheels at the lowest chair position.

I bough these for my old office chair with plastic wheels. I have tiled floors and the old wheels would get caught in the grout cracks and make it difficult to turn and slide in and out. Every chair no matter of expensive, would have the problem of the wheels getting cocked or caught on something. These wheels are fantastic! I slide around like I am on roller blades. the wheels roll over cracks like they are not even there. Honestly I had no idea how annoying the old wheel were until I got the new ones on.

These are well made and would be a great replacement for your chair's casters if you were going to use it on hard floors. Probably would be great to protect wood floors from being scratched by the stock plastic wheels. Another manufacturer selling a similar product made it seem as though these would negate the need for a chair mat on carpet. Not true. I don't think that this seller made that claim though so I cannot fault them for someone else's claims.Great for hard surfaces not so much for carpet.
