Stanwood Rain Chain Copper Basin Bowl for Rain Chain

This is an attractive all copper bowl for the base of a rain chain. It is designed to lay flat on the ground! (Preferably will additional ballast like stone weights.) Yes, all those commenting on the fact that it doesn't remain flat while hanging are idiots.

The media could not be loaded. This is attached at the bottom and I have a bunch of rocks in it. It has held up one full year through all 4 seasons and works great.

I bought this to use indoors as a bowl for floating candles. I knew I'd have to seal it myself, and after about five coats of metal lacquer, it's holding the raw-copper shine reasonably well. It was already darkening in uneven spots when it arrived, though, so I had to buff it clean again, too. That said, it's working quite well, and sits level, and looks very handsome with some river rocks in the bottom and a trio of glass candle floats inside. If you intend to use it outdoors, be prepared to either seal is extremely well or else replace it relatively soon, because the metal is really pretty thin and it won't hold up to oxidation too terribly long.

Great addition to the rain chains we added to the front of the house - very unique and they seem to turn up the chiming sound when water cascades along the chain. I took the advice of several other posters and added some rocks to the basin for extra stability. Very pleased overall with this purchase.

Beautiful complement to my rain chain! It's very well made - is beautiful in the sun or with rain splashing down the chain into it. The basin comes with a connection chain that is easy to use - you just have to spread the link join slightly and then close it back again once the link from the chain has been inserted into the connector link. I am quite delighted with this rain chain copper basin - it looks classy and is something very unique and has a lovely sound when rain is running down the chain.

I have wanted a rain chain for several years, but the cost has been prohibitive. After I finally saved enough pennies to purchase one, I discovered that it did not include the basin bowl to catch and divert the water. I was thrilled to find this one, which was not only affordable, but it matched the chain unit and does a splendid job of diverting the water.

A good way to hold down the chain and also disperse the rain. Add a few stones to keep it in place and you have a good looking addition to your rain chain. I did make one change by putting a couple of holes in the bottom to allow for drainage. This helps to prevent standing water and a place for mosquitoes to breed.
