A Useful Tool for certain situations
I purchased this item when the handle on my rear engine compartment lid disengaged from the locking mechanism on my '65 VW camper, leaving me locked out of my engine compartment. Using this tool I was able prise the gap between the rear valance and the engine compartment lid without damaging anything. I had hoped to be able to manipulate the lock through the gap I created but as the tool only inflates 20mm or so I was unable to do this. The tool did allow me to gently use a crowbar to pop open the lid however, and so no damage was done to the vehicle - result! It's easy to use - you just slide it into place, pump it up using the hand pump, and it will support whatever it is you are attempting to prise open firmly in place. Make minor adjustments by slightly deflating the tool using the air release valve and repositioning. The U-Shape makes this tool particularly suitable for accessing locks I should imagine, as it allows you to prise from either side of the mechanism and then has room for your tool to access the lock. Not the cheapest tool in my box at £16.99, but it was delivered quickly when I needed it, and has no doubt saved me a fortune in bodyshop costs by ensuring I got access to the engine without any damaged to the body work.I'm new to leaving reviews for things on Amazon so I'd really appreciate it if you could mark the review as "useful" or "not useful" so I can improve if needed!
