SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
You will appreciate the personality of this book - this is hands down my favorite that is scientifically tuned and I genuinely look forward to reading it every night. As others have stated: it is dense with information, starting from the general and working up to a comprehensive study and guide with many fun applications - I mean it when I say there is definitely something for everyone and you will not regret buying (my mom bought this after 30 minutes of looking through mine).Unique about this book: You can start from the top or skip ahead to a chapter you need, and he will reference and mention where he discusses the future information or predicated knowledge relative to the current context if you are like me and need to know all the details. One last thing: everything is covered... you will *not* need to Google or YouTube another subject or buy another mycology book in addition to this - the time I spent pouring over the other books on Amazon, should have been solely invested in this piece of literature.

Journey into a world of wonder.
If you got as far as reading this, it would be a shame not to get a copy. For me it's a deep sea of wonder. I'm just learning to swim but loving what I can digest and there's no hurry. Peter McCoy's love for the world shines throughout. I'm very happy I bought it.

Want digital version, excellent book but the binding could be better
Excellent book, but the binding should be made better. Another problem i have is that i travel a lot and find myself in weird locations and would LOVE to have the kindle version to read. Currently i’m writing in a 6’ tunnel , 130’ in the air and i have run out of pictures i took in the morning to read at work during down times. PLEASE make this available digitally! As far as info, it’s golden and i highly recommend !

HUGE
The contents are amazing, but for a book that explicitly states that it should be read from front to back, it should have been broken up into smaller volumes.

If you have to own one book on the subject....
If you had to have one book on the cultivation of mushrooms, i'd pick this one. It's a mega-reference of information on medicinal and edible mushroom mycology.

Essential reading for fungiphiles
An extremely comprehensive book covering just about everything you could possibly want to know about every aspect of fungi - from cultivation to their myriad uses. It also weighs a ton!

If you’re serious about mushroom cultivation, this should be on your book shelf.

Exhaustive and Authoritative Content
BUT! The first time I cracked it was literal. This book is probably the last mushroom book I'll buy - Peter McCoy knows his fungi, but I'm going to have to carry it around in a bag and read it only at a table. It's perfect-bound and couldn't be more imperfectly so - it's no longer a book, but a loose collection of 650 pages with a cardstock cover. A book this size (and price) should have a sewn binding. I'm disappointed the quality of the contents isn't reflected in the object itself.

Only a chapter in.. but wow
I'm only a chapter through Radical Mycology, but it's amazing. I have read everything by Paul Stamets (which I love), but so far there is more scientific info, which seems to go very in depth. It's a monster of a book, not something you can take in your bag on the bus. but you will be captivated at home for hours. It's versatile too, from lichens to mushroom jokes, I can't fault this book. I love it. Can't wait to finish it. (And read it several more times after that, I suspect)

A comprehensive overview of mycology
This book is an amazing deep dive into the world of mycology far beyond any of my expectations. If you are interested in this subject at all this is the ultimate reference to get you well into your journey to a deeper understanding of life and the kingdom of fungi!
