The package does not say what kind of milk. It lists the ingredients as banana flakes, bimuno. The bimuno has listed as one of its ingredients , lactose. The package says CONTAINS MILK. It is low in lactose, 0.72g / serving.

It is more like flakes, they do not dissolve, can some times clump together but will break apart easily when stirred. Depending on how much liquid is added, it can seem like a puréed banana. I add mine to cereal.

Q: Is there a lactose free version of this?

Banatrol Plus contains two sources of soluble fiber. A dehydrated banana flake and a prebiotic, (galactooligosaccaride) called Bimuno. Bimuno is a fermentable fiber that is derived from milk so it naturally contains a trivial amount of lactose. Most people who are lactose intolerant, tolerate it without issue. The amount of lactose per serving is equivalent to about 1 teaspoon of milk or 5 milliliters. The lactose is naturally occurring in the product and cannot be removed. This clinically supported product is a natural alternative to traditional diarrhea intervention. It has been shown to be very well tolerated in a variety of settings to control the frequency and consistency of diarrhea and loose stool.
