Necessary addition for those in the fish hobby! Works for some fish, others need convincing.
This trap works for more curious fish, but I was unsuccessful in capturing a troublesome Damselfish. If I kept the trap in the aquarium for a few days it may have increased the fish's comfort level to enter the trap. My two wrasse fish entered no problem when I placed food inside, but others did not. Some fish are more skittish/scared while others are more curious/confident. I recommend this trap as it will still work on some fish immediately, while others you may have to wait. The trap itself seems well made with durable plastic (not thin).

Not worth the money
The acrylic pieces broke the first day I got it, still managed to make it work but unusable afterwards.

I was surprised at how well it worked.
I bought this to trap and trade off four Chinese Algae Eaters. I put a couple of algae wafers in the back and set it up. Within about 10 minutes a number of my neon tetras were inside and seemed to like playing around in it. In less than three hours I caught three of the four algae eaters, and I'm just starting to set up for the fourth. It's easy to trip, although you have to be careful when you lift it out of the tank, but that makes sense. It's full of water after all. IT was pretty expensive for what it was, but it worked amazingly well. I don't have the skill set to make one of these that well, so I think it was well worth it.It's also fun to use.

Catch your fish without harming them.
Caught the fish I needed to get out in one day. This thing works. I had a Spanish Hogfish that was causing havoc in my reef. Right away when I put food in the trap he started to inspect it it wasn't long before he was going in and out of the trap wiithout a care. I was able to catch the fish without harming him and stressing out all my other fish and now he is in a tank that can handle him. Great product worth every penny.

Pricey and too big
I wish they made a smaller one for sub 40-50 gallon tanks. It’s too big for my 28 gallon jbj. Also the price is nuts.

Perfect. Worth every penny.
This thing is way better than the net. A net is not due to my tank being heavily planted. I put some pellets of food in the back and sank it in the tank. With a little patience the troublemaker fish swam it in. I just dropped the supplied fishing string that I attached to the door and the fish was trapped. The only downside is that there is a chance other fish will be in there too. But it's an easy trade off for how well it works. Definitely recommending this to everyone one.

Not worth the money
This trap isn't triggered by the fish swimming in and taking food. Instead you need to hold a piece of fishing line in your hand, wait until the fish swims in, then manually release the line once the fish swims into the trap. The trap never worked and I was able to achieve the same effect for free, using some large capped-off PVC pipe and covering the open end with my hand once the fish swam in.

Well made but the door that slides down after you ...
Well made but the door that slides down after you have whatever creature your trying to get needs some weight on the sliding door so it shuts fast.
