Neil Diamond Is Forever: The Illustrated Story of the Man and His Music

I bought this book for my husband, who is a HUGE Neil Diamond fan. It was a Christmas present and my husband loved it. Great pictures and information about his songs and performances. A fantastic gift for any fan.

I’m a big fan of Neil Diamond and this book was just what I wanted. The pictures are very nice and with the story you get to know a little about him .i was so pleased with this book I purchased a second one for a friend recently.

I purchased this used, and it’s great. I’d call it a coffee table book, just FULL of great photos and text. As a huge Neil Diamond fan, I’m excited to give it a spot on my table.

I liked the high quality photos and the full coverage of his career. The text came mostly or perhaps completely from prior publications, so do not expect a revealing biography. This book is more of a record of an astounding career.

I still haven't read the entire book but being a Neil Diamond fan for over 40 years, I couldn't resist doing an advance order on the book. When it came I was surprised at how large it was (like a coffee table book) and then I casually flipped through the pages and about screamed with delight! The pictures throughout the book are phenomenal and, after 40 years of being a fan, even I was still blown away by pictures I have never seen! I also loved the pages toward the front of the book with remarks by other well-known in-the-business people praising the works of Neil Diamond. This book is DEFINITELY worth purchasing and, believe me, the price is very much a bargain considering the quality of the book. Someday soon I may even read all the text in it but for now the pictures are still being admired and worth taking the time to make the review! For the true Diamond fans, it's a must have; for those "thinking about it" -- go for it and you won't be disappointed!!

This is a great coffee table book; it has great pictures of Neil Diamond at various times in his life. However, if you are looking for a detail autobiography, this book does not go into much detail. Neil does share some interesting stories about himself. It didn't disappoint me.

Basically this book is like a large program you get at a concert, lots of love but not a the biography I thought it would be. There are two sides to Neil, the showman side and the artist side. This book is about the showman side. Someone needs to write a book about Neil Diamond the artist, the great songwriter who can transform complex feelings and ideas into songs we can all relate to- then convey all of that so well when he performs live.

Mom absolutely loved this book. She is a huge Neil Diamond fan and it had all the information she wanted to know about him.

Excited to receive this book in such a prestige condition. It is a larger book than I expected which was a good thing and I have only had time to flip through it but I know I will read it and take in all the pictures of Neil at different stages of his career, up the the present. I saw Neil live on 5th October 2017 at the First Direct Arena and purchased his triple album very soon after. I play parts of it every day now which takes me back to the years when I first discovered Neil Diamond's music.

A tremendous book illustrated very fully and captivating in its detail. Obviously only fans may pick it up, but it is of exceptional quality and gives a very good representation of ND's career. You get to understand what makes star quality through the decades, and compared with the fanzine commercial teenybop publications of today, you get something to treasure that will last as a keepsake. So much of the material is personal memorabilia collected by people, you almost feel privileged to see it all displayed.

This book is well worth purchasing. It is a large hard back volume of many excellent photographs and written information covering all the early years to fairly recently, printed in high quality. I really like the format of it, as it contains pictures of posters, ticket stubs of concerts etc. A great Discography complete with colour Album Covers at the back.(It would break your heart to see cost of his shows back in the 70's for as little as £1.) Easy to dip in and out at your leisure. A great buy for Neil Diamond fans and will grace your bookshelf nicely.

A real gem. Tons of great pictures from the archives. Hours of browsing in a nice, large "coffee table" format. It's about time that the fans had something like this to enjoy. Up to now the only source of (non-album) pictures for me has been the numerous tour programmes that I possess from seeing Neil live in the UK. I particularly liked the complete illustrated discography at the back. It informed me about a boxed set that I never even knew existed (STAGES), which I have now also purchased and has pride of place in my collection. One other boxed set that I have however, was omitted from this discography (NEIL DIAMOND - IN MY LIFETIME from 1996) which was a shame as I feel that other fans would love it. This book is a "must have" !!

Bought this for my Dad although we are both fans. I spent an afternoon reading it and founf it to be a great book. The written info will be nothing new to die hard fans but a great intro for the beginner. The real joy are the pages and pages of photos including personal shots, preformance, memorabilia, albums and singles.Great addition to a Neil collection.
