Excellent performance for the value
I purchased the Epson EpiqVision Mini EF21 Knowing that it is not a significantly high lumen projector because I knew that the use case was primarily going to be in a light controlled room. The first thing that should be mentioned is that it has 1,000 lumens, which is more than adequate for a light controlled room. Or, during use at night where you don't have ambient lighting or lighting from the outside from a window coming in and hitting your wall, for instance. You do have the ability to control brightness, but from what I can tell moving the slider from a low of 50 to a high of 100, there isn't a tremendous amount of difference, although it is a noticeable enough difference. It is quite small, so in terms of portability, it's quite easy to pick up and move around. I also found that the picture quality is more than adequate especially for this price point, and I did not notice any perceptible lag. One thing that I did not like is that it is not able to downscale a 4K video input and output it as 1080P. Usually, the reason you want to do something like that is because you actually get a higher quality picture from down sampling from 4K to 1080P. Then just using a native 1080p stream, for instance. This is very common on websites that allow you to change the resolution on demand. However, this projector does not even allow you to select the 4K streaming input and you are limited to the native 1080p input only. I was surprised to see this, is I was not expecting this functionality, and although I'm not particularly happy about it, this is a mistake on my part because I did not do sufficient enough review of the input signals. There are plenty of projectors that are 4K, and there are plenty that are at 1080p that will accept 4K signals, and then probably even more so that are at 1080p projectors that cannot accept a 4K signal. In any case, not a big deal, because it still can play native 1080P videos completely fine. The projector is well built, and it does seem to be of high quality. I'm not surprised considering it is an Epson projector. In terms of functionality, I do wish it had at least one extra HDMI port. There's only one, and that can be a problem if you have multiple inputs like a gaming console and then also a streaming box or something of that nature. You will have to get up and switch the inputs or you will need to have some sort of HDMI switch box. I did not notice any particular laser speckle which is great and I did not notice any rainbow effects. The audio could be better, but it's actually not that bad for a projector this small. Can't really complain about it.

Best bang for the buck!
This little projector exceeded my expectations, it’s not too heavy, not loud, and the picture quality is amazing.

A Perfect Picture!
I couldn't be happier with this Epson projector! The picture is crystal clear and the overall quality is excellent. It covers all the bases I needed, working flawlessly with Netflix, Google, and HDMI devices. A truly high-quality product that I'd absolutely recommend and buy it again without hesitation!

Good
Not as bright as expected, but startup is quick so I am satisfied. Throw distance is quite short so if you have a small room then it could be good

Bien el brillo, buena la imagen. Me gustó.

Very good! Very easy to use. The image quality is good and lightness is enough for bedroom with a little lamp

Not a fully baked product
First impressions of the projector are good. It's a nice looking compact unit without an external power supply. The experience after the initial unboxing, however, is terrible. First, the projector will need an update. This takes well over an hour and requires the projector to be fully powered on. Once updated, the android OS continues to update in the background for another 10-15 minutes during which time the OS is practically unusable, and notifications pop up continuously to let you know this. Once the update is fully complete, basic functions such as changing brightness completely stop any media, and accessing any other settings is accompanied by considerable lag. Although the remote pairs the first time you power the unit on, it will continue to ask to pair every time you turn it on. As for the image, it occupies a strange middle ground - certainly not bright enough to be used with any ambient light, yet when the room is completely dark any black parts of the image are completely grey. Colors are acceptable but not anywhere near a modern mid range TV. So with below average image and contrast, terribly laggy OS, and constant remote connectivity issues, I would say to avoid. I typically trust Epson products and have owned several of their printers and projectors, but this is the first product I've purchased in many years that feels like it wasn't adequately tested or finished developing.

For the money, this is a very good projector. I don't have 20/20 vision, so I don't think it made much sense to spend more money for a 4K projector. I probably would hardly notice the difference. I also don't have much 4k content to watch, so there is that as well. As you would expect from a laser projector, contrast is excellent and it is very sharp, you can see every stand of hair. It is even bright enough for lights on viewing, although I do have the projector in the basement. So I can't comment if you tried to use it with more daytime light coming through windows. This projector is great if you want to use move between different rooms. Focus & setup is very easy. You just need to make sure you have the right distance to screen size that you want. It is also great for a fresh install, but flawed if you already have a projector installed & the projection ratio is not exactly the same as your old projector. The main flaw with the projector, is that if you have to use zoom or keystone correction, there will be a lighter frame around what would be the area that was shrunk to make the correction. Ideally you want to place the projector so that no zooming and/or minimal keystone correction is needed. The problem for me is I already spent good money for a previous clean projector install. I have an old 720p projector that was top of the line 17 years ago, I can't believe it kept working and never blew a bulb! It was also an Epson, which is why I stayed with the brand. Cables are run through the walls and ceiling for a clean setup. It is no longer practical to move, as I would need to have new holes made for the different projection distance. Then old holes would need to be patched & I would probably have to paint the whole ceiling to make it so that it is all the same colour. Waaay too much work! If I mount where my existing projector is, there is now a lighter "frame" around the projected image. See second photo of the projector placed at the same distance as my old projector. The first image without that lighter frame is with no zoom, but they projector would have to be moved a few feet closer (the ceiling holes problem...). At this point I think I will just have to live with the lighter frame around the image, especially considering there will be another projector upgrade in the future.

O som também me surpreendeu.
