A nice sword,
It arrived sharper than I expected, and is well made. the scabbard is a bit tight on the sword, but it will wear in soon enough.

VALHALLA!
Pretty good sword, tougher than you might expect. I beat the piss out of one just to see and it held up. It held up to me and I can break anything. It holds a decent edge, not great, but still very good. It's A LOT better than a cheap mall sword, but not quite as good as some of the swords out there in a similar price range. Some fit and finish issues with the scabbard mostly, the blade itself is actually pretty nice, and well made. It is full tang, so that's good.

viking sword full tangtempered battle ready medeival warrior sword
good example of inexpensive Viking migration period sword. The blade is thiner than expected although nice distal taper.Didn't bend mine to see if it would come back to true, but did test the flex a little ok.The fuller is pretty good, mine came with a attempt of sharping so I just tuned the sharping up,now cut,s fine, cut through some16 oz drink watter bottles to see if could get the botton part to stay on stand after cut it did.ck the blade it is carbon steel so is the guard but not the promel.didn,t do any more cutting due to this is a Christmas present, just needed to ck it out.The gap between guard and where the blade fits is pretty good better than some of my windless swords like the euperion sword..grip is nice brown lether some places had to glue some ends,it also tapers in thhe middle of the grip, which I like.weight of my sword withought the scabble is 2and 3/4 pounds, very well balanced feels like 2.1 or 2.2 pounds which is the weight of my ronin euperion sword frist one hander they came out with.Scabble is simple but nice wooden core wrapped in lether with crome fitting at top and the chape at bottom. My blade length is 27&1/2 grip 4&1/2 not including guard and promel.sword length is just under 34".Overall this great Viking migration perion sword if you don't want to pay aprox 325 for the windless one which is out of stock a lot at museum replicas.appears full tang didn's force the promel to take off handle on mine.happy with what I got.Ray Blundell

HAD TO RETURN NOT AS DESCRIBED AND IM STILL WAITING ON REFUND
Claims to be battle ready and the edges are tiny bit sharp BUT.... the point/ tip of this sword is duller & more blunt than butter knives I have in my flatware drawer . It's also poorly balanced way too top heavy . The pointless hook at end of the pommel looks like something that belongs on a keychain and makes the sword even more difficult to handle I had to return it AND IM STILL WAITING ON REFUND

Edge geometry is poor
My wife bought this for me a couple years ago. It came "presharpened" meaning they ground an additional unneeded taper into the edge totally destroying the edge geometry. No blacksmith in my area is even willing to fix the edge seeing as they'll have to remove alot of material. Great show piece, horrible combat weapon.

Impressive for the price.
I know zilch about swords but this impresses me. What's surprising is that I received it sharpened and did not request it. I would still like to know what the ring is for that is attached to the pommel. The handle with the woven leather feels great. I got this as a costume piece and it will work convincingly. And as I'm a quarter Norwegian I feel a bond with it.
