Long-Lasting Even in Wind!
These fasteners work great with Coolaroo fabric! I have a carport that I have put the fabric on- the sides and top. The wind can get very strong here and the clothe is holding super well after a year. I will always order these to nail into the clothe and wood. They work great!

Good holding and good coating
The ones that came with my sun shade fabric that I put on top of my pergola a few years back are rusting as they weren't plasti-dipped. These are, so I have a feeling that they'll last longer, probably longer than the pergola itself. It was a little difficult to break them apart, but other than that, they were easy to install and should last a good long time.

Work reasonably well, not great on very hard wood.
These would probably do really well on newer boards, but the pins generally just bend trying to use on anything thats dried up a bit and tough to get them fully seated. They worked to at least temporarily hold up a shade cloth, but I felt like half the pins were just bending for each one I put in. I'm not really sure what else is used for sticking shade cloth on top of wooden beams, and this works well enough to deal with overall.

Very unsafe product, Fasteners come off easilly
Purchased these timber fasteners made by Coolaroo to fasten the shade fabric to the top of my shade arbor/Pergola/patio cover. They only stick into the wood about 1/8". Not very deep. After less than a year I noticed they are coming off. I was getting my yard ready for the upcoming summer, and noticed a few of them in my grass. I went up on the roof and looked down on top of the patio cover, and noticed a few of them just laying on top of the patio cover where they’ve come off probably from wind. Having these come off my patio cover, and going into my yard, is a very big concern for me, as my small dog could easily step on them. I contacted the manufacturer, and they were no help. They told me to buy different fasteners. I guess I will need to go up and remove these fasteners so they don’t come off by themselves and go into my yard and hurt our dog or ourselves. I will have to go a different route to fasten the shade fabric to the top of my patio cover. After looking at it, it’s amazing that these wood stick in the wood to begin with. After you press the fasteners through the fabric, you have about a 1/8" of the spike left that would be sticking into the wood. No wonder they don't hold. (Look at picture) These fasteners may work for other people, but they did not work for my situation

3/5 Stars, satisfied. Does the job, but don't expect to remove and reuse these fasteners.
Does the job. It only gets 3 stars because Pros: + Easy to use right out of the package. Just need a hammer + Inexpensive and quick for fastening into wood + Did not damage the pergola fabric nor the wood + Holds the fabric very tight and securely in place. Cons: - They are not meant to be removed and reinstalled. Using needle nose pliers to remove them, and it's 50/50 whether it retains its shape or all of the 8 teeth. Even being super delicate to remove them, resulted in unusable fasteners. - Of the 50 only about 3 didn't successfully get all the teeth in the wood on the first attempt at hammering them into the wooden pergola. Some teeth collapsed and just laid down rather the enter the wood. Yes, would recommend these fasteners to others. I would also use them again to maintain my current pergola. I also would still be open to better solutions if they are out there.

Awning fabric fasteners
I purchased these along with the Coolaroo awning fabric. I was going to use screws with washers, but thought I'd give these a try. They where so easy to hammer in, that the wife helped me, and the job got done even faster. So far they are holding the fabric down, and have not come loose. Very easy product to use, though the picture shows they fasteners connected. I received 10 of the pictured units in a bag. You have to bend them apart to get your 50 count. So the actual size of each fastener is smaller, but they work great.

Simple but not idiot-proof
You will receive a bag of nicely painted metal strips with spikes punched through the middle. I had to secure a 10'x26' tarp covering a chicken run and raised bed area and this was the perfect amount to hold it down. My mistake installing these clips was that I used a hammer to nail down the right side and then the left side, always causing the fastener to pop up on the opposing side. I wasted about 10 fasteners doing thisas the spikes weren't sunk evenly into the wood. So, when you go to install these, hit the fastener dead-center and it will sink right in.

Works perfectly and evenly stretch the screen over the post and lintel warps

Worked great, but buy plenty.... They're smaller than you think based on the photos.

If you don’t hammer them in correctly they don’t lock into the fabric/wood. Teeth are not long enough.

Do the work but won't be abble to hold for a long time.
