This book is gold! Really important stuff for all churches, pastors and childrens workers to thnk about.
Wow! This book sums up all I have been learning about Children's Ministry recently. I am so impressed and it is so lovely to see it all one book. If only every pastor and childrens worker would read this! If I had the money I would buy a copy for every childrens worker i know.If you are frustrated with sunday school or children's ministry than this book will help you think about it differently. It will help you work out what is important today and a little bit about what it could look like. Finally people are thinking about it theologically and practically! Thanks David & Ivy!

I am only about 1/3 of the way through
This book has so much paradigm shifting information. I got this because we are working on coming up with Learning objectives for our various classrooms. Well, that is not what this book is about -- this book is about coming along side of and instilling the truth of the Bible into children by sharing life with them. I still have a ways to go and my head is not completly around this yet. WOW!

Lots of good ideas
I learned a lot about children's ministry from reading this book. There are several good ideas to help is minister to the whole child. There were several things that I really disagreed with. I did however like the idea of being missional, intergenerational and including the children in the congregational community.

the best book if you will or are serving in any ...
Hands down, the best book if you will or are serving in any area of children!!! Wish I had this book back in 1987 when I first started in Children's Ministry. It would have changed everything!

Great insights and awesome ideas
This is a great book to start thinking about doing Children's Ministry differently. The focus is on intergenerational activities, involving children in the life of the church and worship, alternatives to the schooling model, and much more. It is a great book to get the conversation going about how to do Children's Ministry differently.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
A wonderful book that takes everything that I have thought about ministry with children and puts it into clear, concise language. You'll be saying "Yes! Yes! Yes!" on nearly every page.

Fascinating ideas
There are some fascinating ideas and concepts in this bookI've been wrestling with how discipleship (as opposed to instruction) forms effectively for children in our setting (Anglican). This book opens up some great ideas and thoughts to take forward.I could have done with some more practicalities, although there are some, but overall a highly recommended book if you are involved in children's ministry.

A must read
I haven't even finished reading this book and yet I am so impressed with it that I am already recommending to friends!I am a children's lay minister in a UK middle-of-the-road Anglican Church and regularly meet people who think of classic Sunday School and want to teach children both the 'point' of a bible passage and about God. This book will appeal to all those who don't believe this to be the way forward and will hopefully challenge those who do!Beckwith and Csinos provide an alternative future for Children's Ministry, which focus on allowing children to both doubt and question and which allows them to become believers, theologians, disciples and worshipers in their own rights.
