I bought some spicy boca patties and some regular boca patties. There was no perceptible difference in flavor. I genuinely could not tell which was which. Both tasted plain. That said, it still was fine. I happily enjoyed my chick'n sandwich. Just it wasn't spicy.

Easily as good as any store-bought corpsemeat chicken I've ever eaten. Even if you aren't vegan, this is probably your best option for chicken patties on Fresh - and it's healthier, too!

I am basically a meat eater, I have tried at least a dozen "meat alternative" products, but they always tasted either soggy, fell apart easily while having an uncomfortable consistency when compared to meat, but this chicken patty actually tastes good due to the array of spices of the breaded part of the patty, while keeping a firm consistency alike to chicken. Truthfully it does taste better than chicken patties from cheap brands like TYSON, yet it isn't made of meat, which means that for once the vegan alternative IS better than the cheaper brand of meat.

I am not vegetarian and love spicy chicken. However I find that grocery store chicken tenders and burgers tend to be low quality meat and often sinewy/fatty. As such, I tend to lean towards vegetarian substitutes when ordering nuggets/chicken burgers with my groceries. These spicy vegan Chik'n Patties are neither bad nor great. They don't in any way resemble chicken - they have neither the texture nor the flavor so if you're looking for a meat substitute that comes close to meat then this probably isn't it. They're also not particularly spicy - they do have a decent flavor but to get the most out of them they really need to be smothered with some form of buffalo/hot sauce. If that's OK with you then these are perfectly serviceable - I've bought them many times and continue to enjoy them with a good dose of buffalo sauce and mayonnaise. But if you're looking for something with strong spice or that tastes like chicken, you might want to look further afield.

These patties come in paperboard with a minimum of plastic. You can put all sorts of stuff on them and they still taste spicy and satisfying. I like Boca products pretty much across the board.
