A Big Improvement & Great Value
This hook was purchased to replace the standard, silver hook shipping with my WARN Zeon 12 winch. It's a substantial improvement in several ways: The throat is larger allowing easier placement of tree straps or other items; the gate is heavier-duty than the thin, comparatively fragile gate of the original hook, and the over all size and heft is substantially greater as well. For the money, especially compared to other, far more elaborate and expensive options - it's a no brainer. Added bonus, it looks great on the front of your rig. This hook is a great value, highly functional and superb looking.

New Epic Winch Hook For ATV!
Bought this hook to replace a very worn out original hook on an ATV winch. Really liked the look of the WARN Epic line of products. So bought the 5000 lb. version of this hook to try it out. Feels and looks better then the original hook. So far no problems and holding up very nicely. After using and seeing this in action now planning on buying some more WARN Epic products.Yes I know it's made over seas. It's really hard to find anything made in the USA anymore. But what do you expect when today's society have forced so many company's to shut down factories and move elsewhere and unfortunately it is usually out of the USA! You just have to go with what is available to you even though you might not want too.

How the Ram Power Wagon should have come
My Ram Power Wagon is a recovery beast that comes from the factory with a Warn winch behind the bumper. I didn’t like the Warn epic winch hook that the system came with because the stowing hook placed the winch hook too near a parking sensor resulting in false alarms and errors. The Power Wagon also doesn’t come with any rear recovery points. I solved both problems by purchasing a pair of Warn Epic shackles and some Factor 55 bits. The front is much cleaner and I’ve had no more false alarms and errors since the change. The rear Factor 55 shackle mount fits the 2-1/2” receiver perfectly and the color is almost a perfect match with the Warn epic shackle.

This is the way to go.
30 years ago when I started wheeling, we didn't have all the different options that we have today. Now, there's all sorts of different things you can attach to the end of your winch line, but to me, they just seem like the answer to a question nobody asked. When I get stuck, I don't want to have to get out an extra shackle or other technical items in order to make a "correct" and "properly engineered" connection. I don't want to have to take off my gloves or risk dropping shackle pins in the mud and losing them. All I want to do is hook up quickly, simply, and safely so I can start my pull. What I need is a big fat sturdy hook with a wide opening on the end of my winch line and that's what this is.I'm not bashing the other stuff. I'm sure it's good and strong and I can certainly appreciate the engineering that went into it. But for me, quick and simple just makes more sense. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Roll On
A quality wire rope pulley built heavy duty, complete with grease fitting. Bought 2 each and the first use was to pull a 12000 lb tractor, axle deep in mud, back onto solid ground. Using the two pulleys was able to crest a multi-part line to increase the pulling power of the 16500 lb rated electric winch. Had to chain the back of the winch vehicle to a substantial, 20 inch tree. With the winch vehicle secured the winch with the heavy duty pulleys were able to pull the tractor out. A tough, dependable, stout product.
