A great pair of sandals
I will have to admit I am a somewhat stringent critic. However I am totally impressed with these sandles. The quality of the leather is superb and the craftsmanship is spot on. These aren't made by just anyone they are made by skilled hands. The size is just a tad small. I usually wear a size 8 and sometimes 81/2 in certain brands of running shoe. I got the size 39 and my longest toe just touches the stitching near the end. My foot fits completely on the shoe bed but the stitching against my toe is a slight bit annoying at first. The leather, yes real genuine leather, and a bit stiff but is of good quality and expected to be a little stiff during the break-in period. If it was too soft to begin with it would stretch far too much to ever be comfortable when broken in or in some cases may not stretch at all because as I understand it to get a soft leather it must be stretch before product is made. However it is not so stiff that it's uncomfortable. They are comfortable straight from the package. If you think they are too stiff you can do what I did with another style I bought from the same company. I soaked them in Neadsfoot oil (when I say soaked I mean covered them until the oil was almost dripping, waited a couple hours then worked the leather back and forth for a few minutes then soaked them again and placed each inside a separate old sock for three days then removed the sock, added more oil and worked again then wiped off all excess oil. If you try this and find they are still not as soft as you like you can repeat this process as many times as you like. This is the same oil that professional baseball players use on a new glove. It's made explicitly to soften leather and will not harm any leather. It may however darken the leather somewhat but not harm it. If you find that they are stretched and the straps are too loose you can wear them into the shower then let them dry and this will cause the leather to shrink. These sandles are an excellent buy at a much higher price but I'm happy for the price I paid. I have gotten compliments every time I wear them and am asked where I purchased them. You don't see them often as a matter of fact I have never seen them anywhere else and was eager to get them thinking that the price might raise. I am definitely going to order a couple more pairs and a couple in different styles because anything this good can't stay at this price.

Best sandals in the world!
I have read the bad reviews and would like to offer a tip. Yes, when you first get these sandals they are a bit tight and the leather is hard. I wore them on my first day in India. My feet hurt a bit until I walked down to the Bay of Bengal to collect water samples. My sandals happened to get wet and I just wore them until they dried. By the end of the day the leather was buttery smooth and they fit perfectly. I'm not sure if it was the salt water or if the same result would happen in freshwater. If my Yashua sandals could talk, they would say: I have run through 16 airports, walked miles through the streets of Dubai, India, and the Kenyan bush. I’ve carried my owner through on-the-run photo and video shoots - all without causing one blister. That pair lasted six years of continuous use. This is my second order. I will be walking the Portuguese Camino de Santiago Latoral Route along the Atlantic coast this September. Since I do not live near an ocean, I will get my new Yashua sandals wet for the first time in the Atlantic Ocean and then wear them rather than my tennis shoes across the sandy parts of The Portuguese Way. 1st Photo: Wearing my sandals in a mud hut after hiking in the Kenyan Bush 2nd Photo: New Yashua sandals, Honey, Size 39, US 8

Good looking and extremely comfortable. Order at least a size up.
First off- I wear a size 11.5 US. I ordered them in 45, which I think is a size bigger? Any way, like a lot of good leather shoes they were a bit tight at first, but broke in within a day. I’ve been wearing them here and there for about a week now. Pros: - I like the way they look. I have big fat man feet but I think these shoes actually look pretty good on me. - It seems hard to find a men’s sandal that ha both a big toe loop and an ankle strap. To me, who just started wearing sandals about a year ago, things that help your foot naturally grip the shoe as well as keep it on are very important. The loop and the ankle strap help the shoe feel secure enough for walking. - I actually thought this sandal was going to be heavier and clunkier than it was. It’s not dainty exactly but it looks like an artisan made it rather than a caveman. Very light. - the material is excellent. Feels good on the sole of the the foot and doesn’t rub. Idk about others but I wear sandals to avoid sweating. So many sandals are made from material that seems to hold in heat and perspiration. Maybe it’s because these are still new to me but they are not a hot or sweaty sandal at all, which is appreciated. - for whatever reason my wife doesn’t like the style of these “Jesus sandals” and doesn’t steal them like she does every other pair I own. Lol. Cons: - even about a week in they kind of creak with each step. It’s not irritating to the skin and if you were out in public you probably wouldn’t notice it. - this is barely a con, but they are not slip-on ready for me. Again, I’m a big guy so maybe just me but I have to fiddle with the straps a bit to get them on. All that said, this is an awesome shoe. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a high quality sandal that is neither super feminine nor a tennis shoe with the toe cut off.

I like the shoes but the straps as many other reviews ...
I like the shoes but the straps as many other reviews state, rub the top of my foot in a very uncomfortable way. The size 40 (which I thought was a size 9 did not fit). I'm not sure I will reorder since the price goes up with the size. The quality of the leather reminds me of an old fashioned leather strap that has been tanned (not sure that is the best word) and polished. Extremely nice quality. Looks nice on the foot. The length did not fit my size 9 foot (though in sandals I do wear a 10). Considering going up to a 41. These sandals look nice on. I don't particularly like side wing looking things but I could deal with them for the nice quality of the shoe. The sole was surprisingly spongy and comfortable.

guter Schuh, gute Passform.
