This is a great piece! The gold is subtle and the size is in the mid-range, not too big but not too small. It is a metal cross-hatch pattern that can be hung vertically or horizontally. It works so well in the space I needed it and the quality was on par with what I'd expect for the price (looks good but my hubby had to adjust how he hung it as the hooks for hanging were slightly uneven). As a side note, another reviewer mentioned that they spefically bought this for "a Christian friend". I just wanted to clarify that having the word CROSS in the name does NOT mean this is in any way a religious piece. It is referring to the CROSS HATCH pattern. Just in case anyone thought there are a bunch of little religious symbols in the art piece, there are not. Parts of it "criss-cross" but are not specifically Christian crosses. If so, I would never have this on my wall.
