Warning Does Not Support ONSTAR SERVICES!
This product looks and sounds good, except the software is so out of date and the Camera does not fit the tailgatefor a 2012 Chevy Avalanche, as it said it would.Worst of all after 3 months of testing and retesting this unit DOES NOT support ONSTAR. It cancels the service out, you think you have the service but the Unit does not run with the essential ONSTAR that GM and Chevy offer. Warning this unit is a FAIL. Chevy and GM will not support or Help on this productThe camera in the kit is too large to fit so your only option is to mount it on top of the number plate !! looks terrible and has to be continually adjusted. So UNPROFESSIONAL and the wiring will not link into the camera in the tailgate that is perfectly good. The clock does not adjust to daylight savings and they advise to use another area. The SSD card is software from 2011 and they promised that in December 2020 to get an update, to this time there is nothing on-line.Worse you have to TYPE your directions into the screen! There is no voice activation. And it insists on a street address and if not it sends you to another state that is similar!!! Does not understand local and county addressesIt cost me $300 to have installed and now ONSTAR is Useless.I'm disgusted Amazon Needs to do something.I now have no contact details for this company, since I flagged these issues.Amazon again needs to back the customer.

A decent head unit for the price
I installed this head unit into my 2010 Tahoe. I did like that the company contacted me to ensure the unit would fit and it does, however, the bezel trim piece that goes around the unit (and climate controls) now sticks out a little on the drivers side. Some trimming had to be done because the head unit does not go in the radio cavity all the way without contacting dash supports behind it. The can bus speaker is loud and sounds awful. Something you'll have to get used to and I'm still getting used to it. When connecting through bluetooth, it will automatically connect and start playing music through a music app on my phone, however, I wish it would display the artist and song that is playing. I have to pull my phone out of my pocket to see the song/artist. I also wish the clock could be displayed on other screens other than just the home screen. If I want to see the time, I have to push the home button. This unit also comes with a mic built in right above the volume knob yet comes with a corded mic for installation. I didn't notice the built it one until after I installed the unit and corded mic. I navigation is good yet control options are limited. The guidance voice is low in comparison to music being played. This is adjustable though. One annoying thing about the navigation is the over-speed-limit warning. It warns me that I'm above the speed limit constantly and I have yet to find a way to turn it off or reduce it.Overall, this is a good head unit and does what I need it to do. It does have some nice features. Honestly though, it was kind of a lack of options trying to find all in one head unit that readily fit into Tahoe without an installation adapter kit. A hole drill is included for installing the back-up camera. The unit also comes with additional apps built into it, however, I cannot think of a time where I will want to play chess (it's installed) while I'm driving. I wish I could adjust some of the features I don't care for.

Some defects
The mic doesnt work on it so when i use the phone i cant use it on the radio have to switch to speaker ..cant afford to have stereo taken out due to more money being used so have to take a little loss on the product

Great performer & easy install on my 2008 Silverado
This unit is really a lot for the money. Pros/ It bolts right in & does not need a dash kit. Comes with all harness wiring, no splicing or soldering was necessary. Unlike many other head units, It truly is compatible with a Bose system. It does activate the Bose amp! Just as important, this unit comes with the can/bus interface so that all your steering wheel controls are retained. It simply plugs right in. It really has a factory fit & in my opinion is a very user friendly unit. Great FM radio reception & sound over my stock unit. Navigation works well & gives additional info along the way. Cons/ Previous reviews mentioned that the GPS plug on the back side hits a plastic obstruction. I grabbed my Dremel & cut out a small section before hand giving me clearance. About a two minute job. Install Instructions are a bit limited. However, I wouldn't worry about it. Each plug only fits into one other plug. You can't really make a mistake. I only used one RCA jack which was for the backup camera. The rest were unused.I tried to do some homework before my purchase. I had the option of spending two or three times the money for one of the name brand systems. Most of them require a dash kit so you dont really end up with a factory look. Most require buying the Can/bus system that one must solder or splice for install. If you are somewhat handy this unit is as easy as it gets. Again, a very well built unit that performs and is a lot for the money!
