Basic grey casing, but it can be painted. Loud, slow but the kids love them. They will chew up the batteries when in and out all the time.

May the Force be with you!

We recently got the Power Light Saber with auto extension and retraction, and it has been an absolute hit in our house — especially with our 10-year-old. The motion-activated sound effects and smooth automatic blade action make it feel just like something out of the Star Wars universe. It's well-built, responsive, and surprisingly durable for how much it's already been used in lightsaber duels around the house. It was the perfect finishing touch for his Jedi Halloween costume, and honestly, it’s become one of his favorite toys overall.

I used to collect all of the collapsible lightsabers of the late 90s/early 00s: Luke's, Vader's, Obi-Wan's, Qui-Gon's, Maul's, Anakin's, Dooku's, Mace's, and even the more generic ones that came in colors like orange, Starkiller's, and the Build-a-Sabers. So many great memories unscrewing the tops, plopping in those D batteries, and hearing the sound fx & lights. Fast forward to 2015, the new Force Friday and... to say I was underwhelmed by the saber offerings on hand would be an understatement. The blades were suddenly like a third of the size, opaque, and all around of far cheaper quality. What happened? And things only got worse. We got weird saber pieces to make the silliest, most absurd saber designs -- this isn't even me being an adult who can't enjoy kid toys; as a KID I loved the movie-accurate sabers! Fast forward even further and now we have sabers with handles that have *checks notes* the Mandalorian's head as the hilt... or Grogu's. What. Happened? Enter: POWER SABERS. This is the perfect evolution of all those collapsible saber toys. It's more expensive, sure, but c'mon! This is exactly what Disney was so proud of concocting for their $2 per Person per Minute Starcruiser except *you* didn't get to use, you got to *watch* someone use it, for one second, before awkwardly setting it down behind conveniently placed architecture. With this: YOU are the Jedi( (or Sith) more than ever. Truly amazing. My only critique is that I really wish they had designed a different hilt for the red blade. I sincerely hope they continue making these and earn as much money as possible to expand things: new saber colors -- blue, yellow, purple, orange, white! New hilt designs! Shinier metallic hilts & more paint (e.g. black) to add more visual flair to the hilts, etc. Double bladed variants! Crossguard! Possibilities are endless.
