Finally, Open Toe Footwear for Gigantic Feet!
If you're like me and have humongous feet, you know how hard it is to find any kind of footwear. You generally find something that's comfortable and available, and stick with that brand and size. For me, it's been New Balance 14 extra wide for the last 20 years or so (yes, I'm a dad, and old). This has been fine for sneakers, and I even got a pair of NB hikers that have been working pretty great for me.My family and I love the beach, and every time we find ourselves shopping at the beach, I instinctively check the flip flop rack for something in a 14. To this day, I've never seen anything on those racks above a 13. So I went to Amazon, found a nice looking pair of flip flops, and the largest size they had was a 14. Figuring I could return if it didn't fit, I pulled the trigger. When I got them, I couldn't even get my toes past the straps. There is no way they were bigger than a 12!So I continued shopping the Amazon, and lo and behold, these New Balance slides showed up in my search results. Thinking they've never steered me wrong in the past (and I could return them again if they didn't fit), I decided to buy these in 14 X-wide.Like a lot of people said, they definitely need some breaking in. I just wore them around the house with socks on (never with socks in public though) for a few days, and they feel amazing now. I generally don't leave reviews this quickly, because I like to see how they hold up after a few months, but so far, so good. They feel relatively sturdy, and given how quickly I destroy shoes (I'm a big, active guy), I'll be happy to get two summers out of these, and with what I've seen so far, I don't think they'll disappoint.

They fit my feet.
I've tried ever slide since addidas quit making the one that I really liked. I've gone through other Addidas, Nike, UA, CROCS, and specialized othopedic slides. These NB slides fit my feet and are comfortable. They have a soft foot bed and a little raised chevron beneath the middle of the toes that is great for grabbing the slide when it wants to slide off. That said, variations from my foot might make these slides uncomfortable. I am a standard 11D.

Heavier guys may need to buy softer insoles
While I think this shoe is fine; I the removable insert that comes with the shoe is very thin and rather hard/stiff. As such, I thought these shoes were rather uncomfortable. I should note that I weigh 195; and as such, prefer a shoe with a little more cushion. (Not that it needs to be like a pillow; but I find thinner/harder insoles uncomfortable).I was going to return these shoes; but I purchased some insoles (around $20) that provide much more cushion. Perhaps a guy who weighs less would find these shoes comfortable as is, with a thinner/hard insole; but I did not.Now that I have the softer insoles instead of the hard/thin insole that came with this shoe; I find this shoe very comfortable.I also like the square/boxy toe box; which gives my toes plenty of room, rather than a more tapered shoe that narrows at the toes. These shoes cost much less than many of the running shoes available. (Which is nice). However, be aware that if you are not a light-weight guy; you may need to spend a little more money to buy some softer insoles to put in these shoes.

A bit disappointed
It's true to size but the band on the right slipper was way too loose , it's a little hard to wear because my feet kept sliding to the front. It's not too hard or soft and there isn't much support if the band is too loose. It would have been a perfect slippers if both band were the same size..

Great Slippers for Lounging Around the House
These slides have been a game-changer for my husband, who deals with plantar fasciitis. He wears them around the house every day, and they provide just the right amount of support and comfort. The cushioning is soft yet firm enough to relieve pressure on his feet, making them a great option for those with foot issues. The soles have a nice amount of grip, which is great for walking around the house. They’re easy to slip on and off, and he says they’re much more comfortable than regular slippers or sandals. If you’re dealing with plantar fasciitis or just need a supportive, comfortable slide for daily wear, these are a solid choice. Highly recommend for everyday use!
