Crisbee Cast Iron Seasoning Oil & Conditioner - Non-Stick, Oven Safe, Made in USA

This is mostly just glorified Crisco (soy and palm oil) so probably not worth the inflated price for the addition of beeswax. However, as a connoisseur of seasoning techniques I must admit this recipe works extremely well. The presoaked cotton rag is genius and is worth the price simply for the convenience factor. The nonstick properties are the same or better than the flax oil method, except the Crisbee coating is *much* more durable especially when high heat and scraping are involved. The high smoke point of Crisbee means low carbon build up - and therefore it takes longer to develop a dark black patina compared to flax oil. However the ease of application and durable non-stick of Crisbee make it a clear winner. Plus the Crisbee smells nice when seasoning instead of smoking up the whole house. I have not done head-to-head testing with regular Crisco but they likely work the same. Crisbee is probably not worth the brandname price for the extra beeswax ingredient but the rag concept is just a really nice convenience.

I've been using this product for a number of years now and I can say it's absolutely great. I've used in on cast iron and carbon steel. I use it to maintain the seasoning and also to season a new pan. With the carbon steel I get rid of all the residue that comes with manufacturing and shipping. Follow the manufactures seasoning process then I follow up with applying this product with to a warm pan, let it smoke (it's steams actually) until it doesn't, repeat. Creates a truly great non-stick surface that's easy to cook and clean with.

I do a lot of cooking and I have both cast iron and carbon steel pans that I need to keep seasoned. This rag seems to work really well to do so. I would have given it 5 stars however it will not last as long as I would have hoped.

The media could not be loaded.  Decided to try this on a freshly sanded lodge. After 3 rounds of seasoning it was already doing great. Some sticking with eggs but not much else. After roughly a month of almost daily use and reapplication the seasoning is better than my best nonstick skillets. Not even eggs leave a residue.It’s super simple to use. The instructions on the can are perfect. After using the swipe +20 times it still have plenty of use left and the rag is plenty pliable now.It works great and the fact that it’s already in the rag ready for use makes it a no brainier.

I typically do not write reviews, but this product has been amazing. I have a very large cast iron pan and have tried everything on the web to 'season it' properly, using vegtable oil, canola oil, etc., but it never really worked to make it non stick. Because of that, my cast iron was really only used for Meat and potatoes, but never things like Eggs, etc. Well - after getting this product it has changed. I followed the directions and reseasoned it 3 times and for the first time ever I was able to cook eggs on my pan without any sticking, and when I say that I mean I made over easy eggs without the yolk sticking and breaking. The fact that the oil is contained in a rag makes this way easier to apply as well, no need to store a small piece of cloth in a bag somewhere, its all self contained. Honestly, this is a great product and super excited to continue using it for home and camping.

I use this product on my cast iron, my metal frying pan as well as my porcelain pots and pans. Very easy to use and works well. Great price and many uses in one container. Well worth it to save your pans

I like the concept, and how it applies., However, it left lint sticking to my new cast iron. I suggest using the other forms of Crisbee and Larbee.Edit my review to add the following:Crisbee had responded to my review, and offered me a full refund. However, I had not seen their message until perhaps 4 weeks after the fact. By then, the refund window had closed, and I longer used the credit card used for the original purchase.Crisbee offered to send me a complimentary Larbee stick, as I had purchased it previously. In fact, it has been my Go-To seasoning choice. It just works! Given the fact that I own 183 pieces of Lodge cast iron, I do considerable seasoning.Fast forward. Today, when I checked the mail, I saw that I had received a package from Crisbee. Shocker! I had receievd two (2) complimentary Larbee sticks. Thank-you, Crisbee. Your products are wonderful, especially the Larbee stick.I stand by my original review. Crisbee and Larbee products are awesome. Whatever little issue went wrong with my Crisbee cloth was given remedy. I was a happy customer before, and I remain equally happy.Obviously, you can buy Crisbee and Larbee products with confidence. This pad was a great help seasoning my cast iron skillet. Not messy or staining and no clean up. Just follow the easy steps to seasoning your cast iron. The process of heating in the oven takes a bit of time but this pad part is so easy!
