Nothing wrong with sheath if you are resourceful
Great knife. Very sharp. I took a small flat head screwdriver and gently pried the sheath along the seams until I liked the retention. If you make it too lose just squeeze it back together with pliers and start again until it is just right. Nothing to it. If you cannot figure this stuff out, stick to a butter knife or a fork.

Extraordinary Knife, Unacceptable Sheath
Correct terminology: Reverse Kerambit. Perfect ergonomics. Beyond perfect. A masterpiece of design in every regard. Someone deserves recognition for this. Well made. Surprisingly good steel at this price. Esthetically beautiful. The bad part, the sheath. It takes two people to pull this knife out of the sheath. I see no way of fixing this sheath as designed. A deal breaker. I returned it. However, the knife itself serves so well in the self defense role. Index finger through the loop, point down and edge forward, the defender needs no skill nor training: intuition and the design of the knife will carry the day. I may purchase this knife again. If I do, I will use a hack saw to remove the retention portion of the sheath, and I will put an UltiClip Slim 3.3 belt clip on it (available on Amazon). The knife will have NO retention, but it will carry high and concealed, and draw like lightning. I might do that. If you want to try that too, you will not find a better self defense knife at any price on the internet.

One fault to a otherwise nice knife.
It is a bit of a struggle to get the knife out of the sheath. I found if you push the handle forward ( away from the blade ) as you pull the knife up and out, that removing it is easier. Arrived quite sharp and a good weight as well as a good fit to my average hand. Hope you can enjoy it.

Good knife EDC boot knife
Nice quality and size. I use it as a boot knife and it's a great fit. The grip lets my draw it well and the holster stays put. Can't beat the price for an EDC boot knife.

Amazon misses the point in their rating system - again!
This is a quality product. I'm leery of products carrying a prestigious brand name. Apparently these guys did procure usage of the Smith and Wesson name and logo legitimately. It is an impressive low cost blade. A skinning knife or bushcraft knife it is not! So Amazon's "star" question about comfort is way iff base. To borrow a phrase from concealed firearm carry, "Having a handgun on one's person should be "comforting" and not necessarily "comfortable"!" So, as a neck knife, you won't fet blusters the one time you need it to slice a carotid artery or puncture a lung or heart and/or. disembowel someone, all of which constitutes the primary purpose of this knife. I will not use it to cut cardboard as that destroys my stropped edge. This knife came sharp from the box and I stropped it to razor sharp. I will order another and dull the edge for deployment practice as I've lightly sliced myself in practice several times in deploying it from under a short. It is wicked sharp and the curved, rebated top makes that pijnt needle sharp as well. Double edged carry knives are illegal in Hawaii and I may shorten the blade avlittle to avoid "cop confusion" as to the exact length of blade as there is a lot if "non-sharp" length that a rookie cop might interpret as "blade length"! This was a close as I could find in a modest price range with a Karambit retention ring and a useful blade design, although a little too long to realistically pass muster with squad car cops in Hawaii (beat cop? What's that?) When I'm in a wheelchair, waiting for ParaTransit pickup, I'm often in places with few people and twice in the last two months felt in danger of attack by a street person or a low life. Each time they changed their mind when about 5 feet away - probably because I was ready and didn't project alarm or fear. Anyone that will rob or attack an elder or disabled person in a wheelchair deserves to die on the spot and the world will be a kinder, gentler place without them. I have utmost confidence in this knife!

Great knife! Terrible sheath.
This knife is fantastic! Between the shape of the blade and the edge profile this thing is razor sharp out of the box. I used it to process a 15 lb brisket (which it's obviously not designed for) and it did the job super well! The grip is comfortable and it handles well in the forward and reverse grip. My only issue with this is the sheath. Absolutely terrible. It uses some sort of pressure retention to keep the knife in and it uses the eyelets to do so which by its self makes the blade difficult to draw and if you try to mount an ulti clip to it, it's almost impossible. I even tried filing down the section by the edge that seems to be responsible, with some little success. Good thing I'm a leather worker and can make my own sheath.

Decent knife once sharpened but the sheath might be the worst ever!
Ok So once you sharpen or have this blade professionaly sharpened it can get literally razor sharp. BUT The sheath is extra terrible It's hard to get out of the sheath unless you press the sheath with your thumb at the same time you draw ir Also and the biggest annoyance is the average person would never be able to remove the screws to move or remove the belt belt!!!! I broke 1 screw loose and the other I still haven't been able to remove yet It's literally going to take putting this in a small vice grip to remove this other screw which is ridiculous and honestly pisses me off! Buy accordingly

Lost it and regret it everyday since
I lost this knife, not long after buying it and it really sucks. This is definitely worth the price and is decently sharp out of box. Decent self defense knife, that looks pretty vicious and would probably dissuade an attacker based on visual alone. Just a cool knife that I'm sad I lost

The S&W SW995 is a decent blade for the price.(50.00 CAD) The knife was pretty sharp when I purchased it but I was able to sharpen it with a wetstone so it was really sharp. The knife itself is pretty solid and releases form the sheath with slight pressure from the thumb as it should. This particular knife is not shaped like your standard karambit blade but I prefer this design more. I also took off the stadard belt clip and installed the Bigtron Molle adapter which makes it easy to clip to my belt without having to undo my belt. Overall once I shaprened it and installed the Bigtron Molle adapter it's a pretty convenient setup.

Knife is ok for the price and with nice design, shape and look is great, but sheath isn’t easy to use, belt clip is useless, not comfortable and needs modifications. But like I said - price matching the expectations.

This is a cut and poke knife it isn't a bushcraft knife so don't expect the tip to stay when digging into a tuna can or when beating off trees and other things. Its a SHTF last ditch knife. Its decently balanced for a ring knife, sharp as hell so if ya cut yourself you're handling this knife wrong. It's simple to draw so if you're having issues either you're weak or the forming of the sheath is a quality control issue. Universal sheath for left or right fitment so with a Phillips head can fit to preference. Overall for price and what it is take it and run.
