Super comfy style (with elegant straps)
Super comfortable style with no 'toe rub' where the straps pass around your big toe. No wonder we saw so many people wearing this style in the US this summer! The second strap, higher across your foot, means these are very supportive too which works well for me with an achilles issue. This is my third pair of Birks - I buy one pair a decade whether I need them or not (and my first pair are still going strong at 21 years old!). Love 'em xx PS - I am really a 6.5, but have one pair of 7s and they feel a bit too boat like, and one 6 (as these are), and this pair feels spot on. So I would say Birks come up 'generously' rather than 'moderately large'...

Quality Stylish Birkenstocks
I was looking for this particular style and colour and could only find these in stock in my size on Amazon. As others have stated the leather is a little hard at first. I think this is due to the fact that the leather is thick and of such good quality. For the moment I am following advice on the Birkenstock website, and wearing them every day to break them in. I find after a couple of days the leather is much more supple andcomfortable. I have worn Birkenstocks for many years in the Madrid and Sydney styles. This is my first pair of Arizona's. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I hope they will last for a many years as my other styles.

You'll get addicted to these comfy sandals!
I have been a long time wearer of Birkenstocks and tend to buy a new pair every one or two years, I've travelled far with them across lots of continents and they've seen me through some pretty prolific walks! If you're new to Birks then don't fear when you first put them on. They often feel a bit uncomfortable and unnatural, just wear them in over a week or two. I tend to start wearing them on small walks and then gradually increase it. Soon enough they'll start moulding to your feet and they will feel so natural! You might need to tighten the buckle after a while as your foot sinks into the sole. A few words of advice with Birkenstocks - try not to get them too wet, they can get a bit smelly and not really made for crossing rivers (or big puddles if you live in England!) A little water won't hurt them though - these are prone to smelling after a long while, I tend to alternate shoes, they like to have a good bake in the sun, otherwise other ways you can make them smell less is putting them in a bag in the freezer, tea tree oil or baking soda. Don't let this put you off though, they are made from natural materials! - Don't get fooled into buying the cheaper versions in TK Maxx, they're often more plastic and not the same quality as these - I'm a size 6 normally but always get a size 5 in Birkenstocks. They advise going bigger but i prefer them to fit snugly

Different
This was my first purchase of Gizehs and I dont think I'll buy another pair, I prefer the Madrid style. The shoes are everything that you would expect from Birkenstock and so are comfortable and they look good. I find there is quite a bit of material at the toe post, it covers most of my big toe and feels a little strange. I still havent gotten used to the new sizing, despite also buying a pair of Madrids in the narrow fitting which is now classed as regular, so if you are in at all in doubt as to whether your feet are wide or not I would recommend getting the wide fitting. I dont have wide feet at all but when I first got these I did feel like my feet were hanging over the edge.

Love these, beautiful for summer
I ordered these in a 7 (my usual size) but had to return and re-order in a 6. Much better fit. Love the colour and the style.

Very Comfortable!
Firstly, I'd like to point out that I've never considered wearing this type of footwear, in fact I've never been inclined to buy anything like this. My problem is a diagnosis of achilles bursitis which means that anything rubbing on the back of my heal makes the condition worse. Shoes, trainers etc. all do this and the specialist I saw recommended (amongst other measures) backless mules to allow the condition to heal. After looking at all the options /reviews and discussing it with others, I plumbed for the Birkenstock and they also have a great reputation. When I unpacked them my young daughter said "they're weird and they look like gardening shoes". She has a point I guess and when I first slipped them on, the moulded foot bed felt very unusual. It was surprising how quickly my feet felt at home in them though and I've hardly taken them off since. They are amazingly comfortable and the build quality is excellent. Now I'm converted and more than happy to impose the sight of my 'weird gardening shoes' on society at large.

The best sandals!
Really lovely sandals. I had Birkenstock for years and, as usual, I am not disappointed. the suede is very soft and feels actually better than usual Birkenstock sandals. The footbed is very soft and great for people like me, who have slightly flat feet. They are comfortable and great for your feet. Very recommended. Please note that the fit is narrow, so they might not be the best for people used to a wider fit or used to the Birkenstock "normal" fit. I am usually a size 6.5 and got the UK7, EU40 and they are perfect.

My mother has been using these sandals for approximately a ...
My mother has been using these sandals for approximately a month now. They fit perfectly, however the dye disintegrates and literally colors her feet dark brown. I've noticed this is a growing phenomenon among sandals recently as I assume they are made in cheaper warehouses. Birkenstocks that have been bought recently create the same outcome. She's quite upset at this occurrence but even if we got a refund or a new pair she would probably run into the same predicament. What I don't understand is how are you supposed to wear sandals in hot weather without getting them wet. I mean, they're supposed to be for hot weather conditions right? Hence I have updated my review to 3 stars for this pair of sandals. Please look at the photo to see what I mean. Notice that the light brown dye has come off completely and you can see actual footprints from where the dye has come off.
