Works well with good sound quality
Nice FM/AM radio - sound quality is good, easy to read tuner, compact size. I use it to listen to sports radio in the a.m. as I'm getting dressed for work.

Good sound, excellent FM, so-so AM.
I wanted a small portable radio to keep me entertained without weighing me down. I was surprised that this is not something you can buy locally anymore -- all the radios I found in retail stores were headphone only or had CD players which made them anything but small. One store had a Sony on a hang card that was so old, it only tuned to 1600 KHz -- the AM band was extended to 1700 KHz at least 10 years ago. I found this little radio on Amazon, read the reviews, and figured for $10 it was worth taking a chance. This radio is a solid performer on FM, it has good sensitivity, and even works well next to my computer -- many FM radios are useless in that situation. The speaker delivers a surprisingly full sound for its size. It is powered by 2-AA cells with a claimed battery life of 95 hours on FM and 125 hours on AM. The radio is a bit bigger than it appears in the photos but still fits comfortably in a pocket. The wrist strap is a nice feature. Monophonic radios often have a headphone jack that will drive both ears of a stereo headset (in mono, of course). The connector on this radio is pure monophonic, that is if you plug in your stereo headset, the sound will come out of just the left channel. The telescoping antenna does not completely retract into the radio case. Instead it retracts to about 4 inches, then it pivots at the attachment point until it is flush with the length of the set. AM sensitivity is poor and the FM dial calibration is quite a bit off. This is probably the result of an internal mis-adjustment. I'll open it up this weekend and tweak the AM alignment (don't try it unless you know what you're doing!)

Personal portable
After looking for a small, affordable, quality radio to carry on my person, I found the Panasonic RF-P50 exactly what I was looking for, on Amazon.com. Just to have a backup radio in case this radio was not the quality I was looking for, I also ordered a Sony ICF-S10MK2. Turns out both are Five-Star quality. The AM-FM bands work equally well. These radios have a great quality mono sound. If you wish to use the earphone plug for private listening, you will have to search for a mono head or ear phone. This may be hard to find as stereo phones are all I could see in stores. I am sure mono phones are available on line for very low cost. I modified one of the old airline headphones with the two mono plug types. All you need to do is remove one of the prongs, in order to insert the one plug. It works fine. I love this radio because it also has a extremely long battery life, using only two AA size batteries. When I work around the house, I just pop my little radio in my shirt pocket an listen. If I had only one thing I would change, even if it would cost a few dollars more, would be a digital tuner so the station would not change by moving the thumb wheel in my pocket. Regardless, I recommend this radio highly.

Excellent reception and delivery
Everything is convenient. FM and AM tuning and volume are easy to use with an indicator that tells you when you have found a frequency or strong station. Both, AM and FM reception, is great indoors at night. This radio arrived a day early, so I've had no opportunity to use it during the day. But with the results that I find now (at night), I certainly don't expect anything less during the day. I highly recommend this purchase to everyone. I hope that you enjoy your experience with it, as I've enjoyed mine. Again, I highly recommend this purchase. Early arrival is a plus to the quality of this radio.

Built to look nice
Looks nice yes. But, that is about where it ends. Tuning is very difficult because the turns ratio between the thumb wheel and tuning capacitor is too course. Just a small rotation of the thumb wheel causes too much change of the tuning capacitor making it hard to hit the center point of a signal. Since AM tuning is non-linear, the effect is more pronounced at the high end of the AM band. Also, a typical pair of headphones with a stereo plug will not fit the radio's earphone jack. This is because both the radio and headphone jack are mono, not stereo. Sadly, for just a few cents more per unit, this could have been a very enjoyable stereo radio that works with existing stereo headphones. As it is, it's little more than a child's toy. On a positive note, the use of two AA cells rather than the typical 9 volt battery indicates a well designed and efficient circuit. This should enhance battery life as well as replacement cost efficiency. Summary: Impossible to use with stereo headphones. Ok for use as a cheap emergency radio to be kept with emergency supplies, etc. But, I would not recommend for every day use.
