The case material is soft, but enough to protect the unit. Unfortunately, the stand portion is not durable. This case had a very SHORT life. Approximately 2 months of use. For reference, my daughter is 5 years old and this case was on an iPad that stays at home or in the car for longer drives - 2hours or so. She is not a child that bangs her toys or throws things and this case is still in good shape, but is no longer functional as the stand is broken. I cannot recommend this product.
