The Book of Beasties: Your A-to-Z Guide to the Illuminating Wisdom of Spirit Animals

I found it interesting and informative.

Before I read The Book of Beasties, on a whim I tried The Beasties Meditation. I had been suffering with knee issues and I wanted to try something different to help ease my knee pain.I was a bit skeptical at first, but I thought I would give it a try and WOW it was amazing. I even had a few distractions during the meditation. After, I could bend at my knees without any pain. I felt fantastic. I did the meditation a few times still not getting a clear core beastie to connect with, but that was o.k., my feeling better was enough at the time for me.So then, I decided to read the book,The Book of Beasties is AWESOME!I still need to find a way to get a goodnight sleep with a puppy in my home, but as the book states be patient.I have had times in my life with different animals showing up long the way, such as Deer, Dragonflies, Horses, and Swans, maybe these are guest beasties, maybe these are core beasties. Maybe, I won't know and that is o.k., I just find this book inspiring to allow yourself to be in tune with nature, animals through a message of helpfulness or possible healing or just to simply enjoy being out in nature and all the calmness it can bring upon you.

I couldn't wait to get my copy of Sarah's most recent book! I absolutely love to play with my animal spirit guides and this book is amazing. The format of wisdom, guidance and love in each beastie is so powerful and insightful-- I want all of the animals to my guides (which of course they can be!). Sarah's unique magic and insight is on each page--- with such careful and beautiful energy of each animal represented here.My first encounter with reading the pages of the animals that mean the most to me brought me to a space of connection with the collective thread of all of us (human, animal and otherwise) that are sharing and loving on this great big planet of ours (I cried in the bestest of ways). The messages reinforced "yes, I see you" and provided ways to integrate each animal's unique energetic calling card.This is a reference book, a magical wisdom guide and a playful way to connect deeply as someone very connected to animal guides and equally as someone dipping her or his toes into the role animals play in our lives for the first time (Sarah walks us all through this is in down-to-earth and meaningful ways). I highly recommend!!

I recently hosted Sarah Bamford Seidelmann as the guest author/speaker/facilitator at an annual women's luncheon I host for Bay Area Women. Our luncheon book was Sarah's memoir, Swimming With Elephants. However, her new book The Book of Beasties: Your A-to-Z Guide to the Illuminating Wisdom of Spirit Animals had just been published by Sounds True and I included copies of this book as well at the luncheon. Well, the book simply flew off the shelf, or the more accurately, the table as Sarah signed copies for the women at the event. It is a joyous and inspiring book for those who find meaning in symbols, images and synchronicity. The Book of Beasties has all that and more. Well written, whimsical, and at the same time earnest and heartfelt, this book is about identifying with animals, learning what they can teach us, and discovering why we might want to connect to their meanings. Balancing shamanistic philosophy with every day examples of how to tune into the animal world, the reader is walked though the possibilities of how we might draw meaning from the natural world around us. An encyclopedic list of “beastie portraits” rounds out the second half of the book. Loved this happy dive into the magical world of spirit animals, and what we can learn about ourselves in the process. Recommend reading with your favorite furry friend!
