This lamp shade is made in the stained glass method using glass not plastic. It is lovely but like any glass can not withstand breaking when knocked to the floor. It is not made with plastic.

I bought this as a replacement for a broken globe. It is so beautiful! Just as pretty in real life as in the photos! Also, it arrived packed extremely well with a piece of sample glass and a rag to clean it with. So glad I decided to go with a shade that has a little more personality!

For the price it's a very nice Tiffany style lamp. The shade is quality for the money. The base which description states is Zinc Alloy could be heavier. Description calls it metal, feels like plastic resin. Update: This came with a bulb. This is what you want for a replacement: GE Lighting 15206 40-Watt Appliance Light A15 1CD Light Bulb I asked the question on Amazon and within minutes I received the answer above. It's actually an appliance light bulb. Works for me! In closing I have to say, after really looking this lamp over, I was so excited to get a Tiffany style lamp and I didn't want to spend the hundreds of dollars most of quality cost. I am very happy with this lamp. The shade is awesome...it more than makes the lamp. This was a "good" on-line purchase.

I was hesitant at first after reading the other reviews so i am posting pictures with my review. i can’t afford real tiffany and this is the next best thing on the market for the price. it was well packed, well made, meaning no loose glass pieces. it’s definitely a hand made sturdy glass shade, not plastic like some reviews claim. they even sent a polishing cloth and a sample of the glass that they use. i’m very pleased with it. it adds great ambience to my room at night and looks great in the day as well.
